⫸STAFF⫷ **TR MODS: Trip Reports Tagging System Guidelines and Notes

***UPDATE***

Use the new Trip Reports Tagging Tool, it automates the whole process.

Overview

The Tagging system was devised as a way to intentionally mark each trip report submitted with information identifying primarily the substance(s) used in the report, and also to identify the ROA used, the experience level, and also whether it was a drug combo. Also the type of trip can be specified: positive, negative, disaster, life changing. These tags are edited into the original post of each trip report thread. They contain underscores and are formatted in such a way as to be extremely unlikely to show up in posts that weren't tagged, and are given very small text and made an inconspicuous color, like so:

substancecode_4ACODMT

We decided to use a light yellow color (Lemon Chiffon to be exact) so that a mod, when looking at a report, will be able to see the text at the bottom, but it is still quite inconspicuous. The code for this is as follows:

PHP:
tag_text_here

Now, WHY are we doing this, you may ask? It's because, using search query links, we can execute custom searches automatically that use these tags to return results that were hand-classified into exactly the type of trip you're looking for. Try using the built-in search functionality to search for reports on LSD, or 2C-B. It can't be done because the names of the drugs are too small. But with tags, and a properly upkept forum that is being tagged regularly, we can get results back that are very precise. You want to find LSD reports? No problem, you're only going to get results back that were tagged as LSD. Maybe you want LSD + 2C-B combo reports? Equally easy. You could even, in theory, specify LSD + 2C-B combos that were taken orally and resulted in positive experiences, or LSD reports that resulted in negative trips.

To accomplish this, we built a Trip Reports Directory many years ago that have links that people can click to return the results they want. It's stickied at the top of the forum. It's not complete by any means, but it provides a simple way to search the forum. My original idea was to create a custom forum header with HTML, that we could have an admin put in place. It would contain drop-down menus for all the different substances, experience levels, ROAs, and experience types that any user of the forum could select from and execute a custom search. This hasn't been done yet but I think that having this system and tool in place would make this forum as valuable a resource as Erowid for trip reports, and perhaps more valuable in its own way because in here, you can get replies and converse about things.

The way to tag a thread is as follows. Edit the first post, and go to the bottom. Copy the above code and paste it in once for each tag. See below posts for the exact tag texts that are defined, and please stick to the existing tag formats so we are consistent. First, make a tag for each substance used in the report. In some cases there are multiple tags you can use even for one substance, for example for ibogaine, I might tag it as ibogaine and as iboga. This is somewhat up to your discretion, really. A better example is morning glory seeds... you will probably want to tag it as "morninggloryseeds" and "lsa". When searching, LSA can be used to return results for all plants containing lysergic acid amides, or morning glory seeds can be used to specify only that particular plant.

Next, you put a tag in for experience level (again, see below posts for all of the texts to use for these tags). Then the ROA(s) used (oral, nasal, IV, etc). Then, the "trip type" (similar to how Erowid classifies as bad trips, glowing trips, disasters, etc). Finally, if the report is about a drug combo, put the tag _combo_, which indicates it is a combo of some sort. And that's it! It is by far the easiest to keep this up if we just tag each new report as we read it. That gives us a few a day at most, but if it gets left behind, then we have years of posts to go back and categorize eventually (this is, sadly, the case right now).

Here is an example of a fully tagged report. Look at the bottom of the first post.

Substance Tags

Here is the base format for substance tags (referred to as substancecode tags):

PHP:
substancecode_substancename

For example, substancecode_lsd is for LSD. This should be in all lowercase letters, with no spaces or additional non-letter characters. When there are dashes, remove them. So you'd use substancecode_2cb for 2C-B, or substancecode_2cbflynbome for 2C-B-fly-NBOMe. There are too many substances in existence to list all the tags that can be used here, but just make sure they follow this format. Sometimes a substance can be given multiple tags, because are different ways of calling it or thinking about it. For example, Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds are LSA-containing seeds, and also have a common abbreviation, HBWR. So I might give it all 3 of these tags:

substancecode_hawaiianbabywoodrose
substancecode_hbwr
substancecode_lsa

The first two are just specifying 2 ways someone might look for it or think to tag it, and the third is actually a further classification as LSA in general, rather than a specific plant. This allows searches for all LSA-containing plants, or just for HBWR seeds. The Trip Reports Directory link for HBWR seeds will include looking for both the _hawaiianbabywoodroise and _hbwr tags, since a mod may have only specified one or the other. When in doubt, tag it too much rather than not enough.

There are also substance grouping tags which you should always use in addition to the specific substance. These are below:

substancecode_tryptamines
substancecode_phenethylamines
substancecode_lysergamides
substancecode_dissociatives

substancecode_ethnobotanicals

substancecode_nbomes
substancecode_amphetamines
substancecode_entactogens
substancecode_piperazines
substancecode_cathinones
substancecode_stimulants
substancecode_pyrovalerones

substancecode_gabaergics
substancecode_barbiturates
substancecode_opiates
substancecode_pharms <-- For any pharmaceutical
substancecode_inhalants
substancecode_antidepressants
substancecode_nootropics
substancecode_antipsychotics
substancecode_deliriants

substancecode_supplements <-- For any "non-drug" supplement (magnesium, gotu kola, etc)

substancecode_obscure <-- For extremely obscure drugs

substancecode_unknown <-- Any time the substance is not known for sure - please include the categories suspected (for example, a report on "DOx", you could include phenethylamine

ALSO, for non-drug trip reports (like sleep deprivation or meditation, for example), we have the following tag:

substancecode_nondrug

So basically, you create a substancecode tag for the specific substance, and then also the substance category (like opiate, phenethylamine, tryptamine, empathogen, etc. So MDMA would be substancecode_mdma and also substancecode_empathogen).

Experience Level Tags

Here is the base format for experience level tags:

PHP:
explevel_level

The following experience levels should be used:

explevel_firsttime
explevel_secondtime
explevel_inexperienced
explevel_experienced
explevel_veryexperienced
explevel_retrospective

This category is open to discussion about whether we should add experience levels... in my mind we don't want to get too crazy here but it may be that it would be better to further differentiate experience level here.

Route of Administration (ROA) Tags

Here is the base format for ROA tags:

PHP:
roacode_type

Here is the full list of ROA tags. We should have one for each ROA, so if anything is missing here, please add it to the list.

roacode_oral
roacode_sublingual
roacode_buccal
roacode_nasal
roacode_rectal
roacode_im
roacode_iv
roacode_inhaled
roacode_smoked
roacode_vaporized
roacode_transdermal

In the case of inhaled, that applies to smoking or vaping. You can use 2 tags for those ROAs, either smoked or vaporized, plus inhaled. That will allow for people to specify between smoking and vaporizing, or simply all reports of either one.

Experience Type Tags

Here is the base format for experience type tags:

PHP:
exptype_type

By experience type, I mean similar to how Erowid classifies each trip as negative, positive, spiritual, life changing, bad trip/disaster, etc. This is the least defined area and hasn't been tagged in the old reports that we tagged years ago, but I think it's valuable information. The categories are open to discussion. I am thinking we have less of them than Erowid. You can classify a report as more than one type. For example, maybe a trip was positive, glowing and life-changing. That would require 3 tags, because we want to first of all give every report a positive or negative general result. Then if someone had a sublime experience that they loved, we want to further say that it's glowing (so people can search for just VERY positive experiences), and if it resulted in a life-changing experience, we want to indicate that too because people might want to search for those. So, all that being said, here are all the categories I can think of:

exptype_neutral
exptype_positive
exptype_glowing
exptype_spiritual
exptype_lifechanging (can apply to positive or negative results)
exptype_healthissues (if the story indicates that their health was affected as a result of the experience)
exptype_bodyload (For experiences with heavy bodyload that was considered a problem)
exptype_negative
exptype_difficult (this could apply to trips that were overall given a positive, just to indicate that it was challenging)
exptype_disaster
exptype_addiction
exptype_overdose

This category is perhaps the most subjective and difficult to say just precisely how to do it. But I think we'll get into a rhythm with it.

Special Tags

Here is the base format for special tags:

PHP:
_tagname_

There aren't many special tags. I will list and describe each below:

_combo_ - This tag is added to a report any time it involves a combo of 2 or more drugs. It's just to classify this report as a combo report. This allows people to search for reports where LSD was taken in combo with anything else, for example.

_exclude_ - This is very rarely used, but it excludes posts from coming up in the search results. For example, this thread, which contains examples of many tags, would show up in a lot of searches (for mods anyway) if it didn't have _exclude_ on it. All of the custom search strings from the Directory or the future drop-down custom search header will always have "AND NOT _exclude_" as part of them.

IDEA PAD

This is a section where we can all write notes or ideas, and discuss them.

IDEAS:

 • Get the custom HTML search header in
 • Add a poster name field to the search header
 • Update the Trip Reports Directory

Moderator assignments for tagging past years

Xorkoth: 2016
Speed King: 2002
bindingaffinity: 2011
devilsgospel/HeadphonesandLSD: 2012

Needed years: 2015, 2014, 2013, 2010, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2001 (some of these might be done but it's been so long I can't remember). If you're working on one, remove it from this list and add it to your list. And transfer all threads of that year to your particular tagging pool subforum.

Completed years: 2018, 2017, 2009

To work on a year, filter the forum display for just that year and start from the beginning. Keep track of where you left off. Any reports that aren't good enough to tag that you encounter you can close and ignore. For earlier years, we did a purge and put all the worthwhile reports in the archive years back so those years should be a little quicker. We now have "tagging pool" subforums where TLB moves in all posts from a given year. It's easiest to tag a few reports and then move them back into the main forum, that way you can always go to your subforum and the first page is all stuff that needs to be tagged.

Guide to Tagging Reports v. October 2018 - Including Instructions for Back-Tagging

Hey guys, welcome and thanks for helping out! This post will explain how to tag reports, in particular for this back-tagging of old reports undertaking. To start, you should read this thread, as it explains what the tagging system is and what it is composed of. Once you do that, read the rest of this post.

It was rather labor-intensive, copying and pasting tag formats and changing them for every report. Fortunately, I have developed a tool that creates the tags for you. To use it, click this link to open it in a separate tab: http://9931080.byethost5.com/tagger.html. Then click into a trip report and start reading it. I tend to skim because there are so many, but whatever you need to get an accurate sense of what the report contains. There are 4 categories of tags: substance(s) used, experience level, routes of administration, and experience types. As you go through the report, check off everything that applies, and select all the drugs mentioned. Here are some thoughts/notes for each category:

Drugs: The way you select a drug is to first choose the category from the drop-down (ie, tryptamine, dissociative, cathinone, opiate, etc etc), and then the specific drug dropdown will populate with all the individual drugs in that category. Select the one you want, and then click the "Select" button. It will add the drug to the list off to the right. You can click the red X button next to any drug to remove it if you make a mistake. Any number of drugs can be added this way. A single drug will add multiple substancecode tags, for the specific drug and its category or categories, and pharmaceuticals will also add a category for pharms. The pharms are probably the trickiest, in that if in the report the poster mentions a specific brand name, you should choose the "by brand name" category, and tags for the chemical as well as the brand will be added. If a brand name is not mentioned, you should use the "by chemical name" category and select the drug. Ie, if they say "Lortab", you'd select the Lortab from the "by brand name" category and it will add tags for lortab and hydrocodone, but if they just say hydrocodone, you'd select hydrocodone from the "by chemical name" category. There is an extensive list of ethnobotanicals, too (plants). There are 2 categories, one for proper scientific name and one for colloquial name... both are identical in terms of what tags they produce, I just created 2 lists to make it easier to find what you're looking for.

Experience Level: We have tags for first time, and 2nd time... after that, there is Inexperienced, Experienced, Very experienced, and retrospective. These are somewhat subjective (except for the first two) but just do your best on how it feels (and if someone self-identifies one, stick with that). The retrospective tag can be used in combination with the others... if it's a looking-back report rather than a description of one trip, it's a retrospective.

Routes of Administration: This is self-explanatory, just check all the ROAs mentioned across all substances mentioned in the report. For example, if they mentioned that they took LSD, plugged MDMA, and smoked marijuana, you'd select "sublingual" (for LSD, unless they mentioned they swallowed the tab without holding it in their mouth first, then oral instead), "rectal" and "smoked".

Experience Types: This is the most subjective. Read through all the different types. Many can be combined. For example, sometimes a trip can be positive and glowing but still with periods of difficulty, so all 3 of those can be checked. As far as whether a trip is positive, negative or neutral (one of these 3 should always be chosen), I tend to go with how the user seems to feel about it by the end. So if a report started really negative but turned positive, I'll mark it as positive. Some of the experience types deserve a brief explanation as to what they mean:

 • glowing - for experiences where the user is really enthusiastic about it ("omg it was the best night ever" / "i LOVED this experience" / etc) - a stand out positive experience
 • spiritual - If the user felt the experience was particularly spiritual for them
 • life-changing - if the user reported the experience as having significantly altered their life as a result of the experience - this could be in a positive or negative way
 • health issues - If the user reported any actual health issues (not perceived "omg I feel like I'm dying on the come-up" type stuff)
 • bodyload - If the user reported above normal bodyload/the bodyload was an issue with the trip. If the bodyload dissipated after the come-up, don't check this option as that's fairly normal. We want this tag to be for people to be able to find reports where bodyload was a substantially noteworthy issue
 • train wreck/disaster - Like Erowid's of the same name, this is for trips that fall to absolute pieces, ie, ambulance ride to the hospital, stripping naked, masturbating in front of people and running screaming down the street, serious harm occurring, etc
 • addiction - If he report details addiction as a result of the drug(s) in the report (not for a mention of "careful this stuff seems addictive", but for full-blown addiction)
 • overdose - If they mention an overdose

When you're done with a report, click "Generate Tags", edit the original post of the thread, and copy and paste the tags generated into the bottom of the post. And you're done! To start a new report, click the "New Report" button on the tagger. If you find that any drugs are missing (I spent a lot of time coming up with an exhaustive list but I'm absolutely sure I missed some), let me know and I'll add it. Any other ideas you have to improve it, I'm all ears. :)

One other thing, as you're tagging reports, change the titles to conform to guidelines if they don't conform (at various periods of time not much attention was pad to this by me/the mods). It should be:

Chemical(s) (sometimes people including dosage or ROA here too, that's fine) - Experience Level - Creative Title

Some examples of good thread titles are:

LSD - Second Time - Amazing bliss
MDMA (120mg) + Nitrous - Experienced - Awe-Inspiring

And sometimes people don't create a title and just put the substances in there... that's fine, there doesn't need to be a title. The most commonly missing info is experience level so sometimes you have to add it after you read the report.

Once you've done some reports I can check out what you did and see if I have any feedback.

Back-Tagging

Each of you has a sub-forum created that is labeled with your name. WR, you've got all the 2010 reports in yours, and D's, you have all the 2011 reports. The subforums are listed above the TR archive. What I've been doing is just going from top to bottom, renaming reports when necessary and tagging each one. Then when the whole page is done, I move all the threads on that page back in the TR forum proper so that I am always working on the first page... that makes it a lot easier to know where you left off. if you encounter threads that contain reports too short to be of any good (utterly lacking detail) or are actually questions or something, move them into the TR Wastebin subforum that TLB created. Also any moderator recruitment threads, etc, or any already UAd or closed threads, we don't need to keep those. When you eventually get done with a whole year, let me know and we'll get some more for you.

One other thing, sometimes you'll come across reports that have been tagged, but only with the substance, or sometimes just the substance and experience level. When you encounter these, please just treat them like they're not tagged and tag them... that was from an earlier version of tagging that was incomplete and we want all reports to use the modern format.

Thanks again for the help and let me know if you have any questions. It's a massive undertaking but it'll make this forum a vastly more usable and useful resource for people once I get the custom search engine header done that uses the tags. Once the back-tagging is caught up, it's very easy to just keep up with tagging new reports.

I don't quite fully understand what I am doing, am I going into every trip report and adding tags?
I am confused :(

Yes that's correct. I've just been starting at the top in my sub-forum (we each have our own), clicking into the first report, reading it (I don't read every word because it would take forever) and checking all the applicable options in the tagging tool I linked to. Then press generate tags, and copy and paste them into the bottom of the first post of the report. Then you're done, except if you have to edit the title of the thread to conform to naming guidelines.

I've been modding here since 2006 so I'm sure it's more confusing than it seems to me. :\ Let me do an example in this post, with the first thread in your subforum. The thread is here: Ambien 20MG. Followed up with 20mg t+1hr (it will be renamed by the time you see it but this is what it was called before I tagged/renamed it). Here is the report:

Hey all,

thought i'd share my experience with ambien last night. i usually take 10mg to help me sleep but find when i take 20mg i will most definately black out. i usually insufflate to gain a faster high as im really impatient when it comes to this :p

around t 0:10 i blacked out. the rest of my night is a mystery and i am still trying to recollect the pieces. however whilst blacked out i seemed to be functional and of which i posted a large dialogue of what i could see and what i was doing for around an hours time. i then seem to have taken another two and pretty much passed out. i suppose if i could remember any of this it may have been possibly one of the most awesome psychadelic experiences ever. this is what i wrote, enjoy!

Well I can sucsessfully say that the deep travels into the pinnacle of the momentous eluberating cosmological sphere have infact caused a slight delirium as to how my pet falcon whom I discovered on my travels and have called frankenjoys eating tobacco. This is rather perculiar I wonder if any other falcon owners have noticed that they are interested in tobac all notes asthough I have discovered the cure for what I call "backflip" syndrome in which you continually attempt to do backfli I tried to do one yet I ended up floating in a white fluffy substance, almost cloud like. I think that I may have been chosen to send the army of llamamas I have been preparing to battle with the other sector of animal or rquestrian beings. Damn horses, always steal my belt buckles to make hooves! Why do we always insist on wearing our hats while we enter the tunnel of the 6 horsemen? They do not appreciate the fat that we are symbolizing their endowerments to the growing populatin of fspace cows who roam the planet. In fact this is the most accurate description of what happens in my house everyday. And posly in the night! Why my cooking machine has dinged yet I see my falcon is weary from eating the tobacco. Silly bird. I must proceed to collect my canned beverage from the eneternal hole of endignation. Well I believe that I can use my powers to collect this food in a much better way. I shall use my levitational abilities of which I learnt in the north of west germany. Otherwise know as the land of floating. Oh no! My phone has appeared to have encoutered a broken light at the top of it! My engineers must quickly see to it. Now to collect my hot food from its slivers. Rather tasty I do say chewing on some ground cow. Now I believe that I need to watch some adventure time in order to be prepared for my next adventure with my falcon friend I have made. I bid you all safe travels from this cosmologically dense atmosphere as I m ust return to my enclave. I am bemused in where I should write my findings. I was hoping someone could be of assistance in my massive discoveries in the field of backflips. Now I must truly depart. Toodles. Imagine being not able to see water, how would the planet survive or could chaos ensure as there is no way to make sure that it is clean? How about the risk of falling beyond the edge of the universe and attempting to create a bridge between the galaxies? I will soon start a collection of skateboarding wheels to place around 36 different llamas on. I do love llamas. Although they are rather delicate beings and I don't believe they could fit into my rocket cabin. I need to travel into the 8th dimention in order to find the answer to how water is not a pigment of blue or white yet invisible to the naked eye as we do not behold the naked eye, ours is clothed with shards of microfibers and branch ammino acids which portray the water toward us.

The horsemens tunnel is closer I can feel it. I may have to remove my hat of wisdom and notice their reaction. Usually they seem not to even notice yet my falcon has made it clear that my hat is a sign of respect. The space cows will be most displeased with me removing the hat though. I should attempt to wear my hat both on and off in order to form a valuable alliance for when the dawn of the planets is upon us. That would be a powerful team indeed. I could create more hats to pledge our allidgance. Or possibly a banner. I have already thought of our war cry. But this would not be possible. Are you near to the tunnel of the 6 wise horses? I hope you have your cap, or you may be slain by the weary dragon who lurks in the heated caves. He does not appreciate a hatless man. iam unsure of my findings of the collective transisdor that appears to be hovering an inchabovethe ground throughits own electomagnetic sphere. how interesting indeed. perhaps this is the much needed item in the assembly of my chariot. there appears to be a major flaw inthe design structure of the unit. first i must reconsider as to how i can attach a type of boosting capability without the risk of hazzard to the dense fur lining of the three octospherical confidulators. i shall ask for the forging master in the morning. my travels must however continue. i must find the answer to how my falcon could achieve a partial disectamy while under the influence of a volcanic ash candy. i am unsure as to the wiggling motions everything appears to be partaking in and i suppose i shall join this wiggle dance. wonderful. what a beautiful sight to watch.

i have found more of my intelligence candy boosters. fantastic. this will aid in my reasarch of the dense structures in my wall mounted vortex. my falcon appears to be rather unhappy with the 6 horsemen as they have been stood stll for an exuberating amount of time. he was hoping they could answer some of my questions regarding the treaty of the land between the space cows and llamas. however my personal army of ferrets is yet to be unleashed upon the vile creatures. ha ha! i believe that my research has led to new discoeveries in the way that the human brain can adapt to a surrounding which is hostile in what i like to call the defensive shell mechanism but i must ask permission of the elders in order to publish and discuss these results. they are based on the mountain far far away of which i have not climbed yet must do in order to reach my final destination of which is my conclave of pillows which will protect me from the incoming invasion of flying kangaroos from the south.

i seem to have awoken a furious lion on my travels to the elder ones. he wants my new friend frank but i will not allow him to be taken from me! i must distract the lion quickly. i shall use one of these brown crumbly pellets contained within a large white plastic storage device. the front is illegible.there appears to be a lion on the front of the device. yes. the lion is furious. he is clawing for frank. i will not allow him to take him from me. i have released the wild animal into the wild abyss through the use of what must be a type of eating utensil for the lion. next time i will have to ensure i have steak ready if the situation becomes worse. i must continue my travels upwards through the mountaints to the elders. yes. the mountains are steep cold and trecherous. i knew that the journey would be a long drawn out one. i may have to insulate myself further if my feet become colder. indeed. the snow is set and my feet are not leaving any entrails. i should be safe from the lionas he will not be able to see where i have gone. a sharp bend now. i am sticking to the track of the mountain.i must make susre i hold onto the railings withone hand and my phone in the other so i may report my findings. i am peculiar as to how i have transformed into the shape of a human being yet i believe that i am in fact a llama. frankis not speaking. in fact frank has not spoke once. he must be delerious from the tobacco he has been eating. such a silly bird. i may seek refuge in one of these caves up the mountain. thisis a trecherous journey. i have found shelter at last and am exhausted from this adventure. i am unsure of my trip to visit the elder. the elder is not even a person. he is spiritual i could seek him through the use of my chariot at the bottom of the mountain although it is an exuberating journey. i must get rest and drink some fluids after that climb.

i can continue my research into the mysteries of the portable space time configulator now. the device is rather wide and has a smooth shell. i believe it could be used in order to tame the wild boars that roam the gardens of time. there is no doubt that the 6 horsemen are aware of the fact i have the power of the universe within my hands. they will be coming for me. i must protect myself from their deadly hats. if one were to switch hats with me i would lose control of my exterior functions such as my ability to regulate osmosis through my skin cells. my reuptake of fluids is vital to my interior core functions. the horsemen are most liekly asleep as i would hear their hooves rattle due to the distinct noise my belt buckles make when attached to the feet of an artic polar explorer. i am safe within this haven.

as you can see i was clearly hallucinating my arse off. like wow. i have no idea how this happened. lots of mixed up weird sentences that appear to make no sense whatsoever either, i think this drug may be damaging to the brain looking over this as this is clearly not right. wish i didn't black out on ambien.

this morning felt groggy and miserable, after waking up on my sofa clutching a toy bird, completely naked and covered in a dust sheet. i noticed some mild hallucinations as well, i saw spiders everywhere (i am terrified of them) and believed they were crawling all around me. had to keep reassuring myself that they wernt there and it was infact the ambien, but this subsided after about 10 minutes. closed eye visuals were quite intense too as i found myself panicing face down on my sofa, instead of spiders i saw faces and eyes appearing visually and an almost whole other world experience as if i was somewhere else which was actually really enjoyable and took my mind off the killer spiders all around me :p don't think i'll be trying this again anytime soon and honestly dont recommend it to anyone unless you could manage to hold off the blackout, then i reckon this would be fucking incredible. i remember a brief period around 5minutes after insufflating in which i hallucinated wildly, lots of visual distortions and shape morphing.

happy days. i think if you take ambien make sure you have xanax/valium ready for the next morning. i popped 0.5 as soon as i woke up as i knew that i would be in distress, and in about 10 minutes was calm.

not sure why i enjoy doing this so much - i suppose i love the black out feeling.

happy pill taking! and be safe!

I have the tagging tool open (here is the link to the tagging tool: http://9931080.byethost5.com/tagger.html). In the tool, I type in my Bluelight name at the top. Then I start reading the report. Heh, really weird report, but interesting. :) I clearly see it's about Ambien (zolpidem), so I select that drug in the tagger (I choose "Other Depressants" in the category drop-down and then zolpidem in the drop-down below it - I tried to organize the substances well but it might take a little getting used to it to find some of the drugs). Then I press the select button. As I read it, I notice that they took the drug orally, so I check oral in routes of administration. I notice the poster indicates that they have used Ambien plenty of times before, so I select 'experienced" for the experience level. As I get to the end (skimming enough to understand the gist of it), I see that the poster overall liked he experience, but that they had some difficulty towards the end/when they woke up, with anxiety and feeling shitty, so I checked "positive" and "difficult" for the experience types. I also noticed they said they took some xanax upon waking up to deal with the anxiety so I added a second drug - I selected the "benzos by brand name" category and selected xanax (pressing the "select" button to actually add the drug - I can tell because in the panel to the right, there are now 2 drugs listed there).

Then I pressed generate tags, and copied and pasted the tags it generated into the first post:

Finally, after editing the post with the tags, I backed up and renamed the thread to conform to guidelines (by double clicking next to the thread title on the main page of the subforum): Ambien + Xanax - Experienced - Ambien 20MG. Followed up with 20mg t+1hr.

This is a bit of an art, not a science. In general, use the tagging tool to guide you. Select the substance(s), and then select the relevant options that describe the report in the other 3 sections.

Work at your own pace, it might be awkward at first but after using it for a bit I'm doing a report every 5 minutes or less. It's still a ton to do but any amount that you can do helps me and helps us get closer to this project being realized.

Also guys, whenever you come across reports that are just like 2-3 lines, or threads that are questions and not reports, or any already unapproved or closed threads that aren't good reports, please move them to the "TR Wastebin" subforum so TLB can purge them all later.

So if it sounds like the person knows what they are doing then I will lable it as experienced right?
Then if someone says 'was given a line at a party' ,would that go under inexperienced?

Yeah, and there is also first time and second time... if they say they've done it "a handful of times" or something, that would be inexperienced. Generally if they did label their thread with an experience level, go with that.

Diphenhydramine/benadryl is in "anticholinergics/deliriants". It's fairly commonly reported on actually.

Once you do this for a bit you'll know about every drug and what class it is. ;)

One other thing, people sometimes use the term "semi-experienced" in their thread titles... if this is the case, please tag them as "inexperienced"... it was sort of the term used to mean the same thing in past years. Don't worry if you already did some as "experienced" or whatever, just for future reference.
