Tougher drug laws mean nearly 1/3 arrested by age 23

meh, you don't think that Beer Companies, and Pharma companies wouldn't kick in millions of dollars to protect their interests.

I don't understand why big pharma doesn't take advantage of the market for recreational molecules.

^It would work against their own interests. Drugs like marijuana can be used in lieu of pharmaceuticals. Also, patents wouldn't be as valuable as after a patent wears off, the demand for the drug will remain and other companies will come in to take the business. The only time this wouldn't happen is in situations like we have with Adderall right now, with the DEA limiting the number of amphetamine-containing products on the market, allowing pharma to stuff the quota with patent-held drugs to prohibit any companies from producing the drugs whose patents have expired.

Amen.
Further communication with the east and ever-expanding global enterprise will take care of this (eventually) for a short resurgance of golden era consumer capitalism
