Hey all. I am a 40 year old wife trying to lose 20 pounds for my 10 year anniversary in September. Have a lifetime of rec drug use so my body seems to be immune to effects of traditional ways like amphetimines. Could steroids be of any use? If so what kind and how do I take them? Desperate times call for desperate measures......

maybe you're not taking the right kind of amphetamines. Theres stuff called Vyvanse that i take for ADHD and jesus christ, it gives you all day energy and gives you NO appetite. Without changing my diet, i lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. For a beginner i would recommend you start on 30mg. Just tell your doc you need help focusing.

diet and training...if you start using supplements and don't eat and train properly you are only going to put all of it plus more right back on when you stop using whatever supplements you are using

also steroids are not a good option for women in most cases

No No No No !!!!!! With ignorance on this level, please stay the hell away from steroids. You might give yourself a huge clitoris, permanent changes to your facial structure so that you look like a man in drag, a deep voice, adams apple.

Steroids are used by women who have reached their maximum muscle gain, and wish to have a physique that is very different from the popular feminine form. Also, going this route is a 24/7 job. Diet and training are the foundation, and without these, you'd most likely get the aromatisation effects mentioned above, without any muscle gain. Getting muscle is one thing - keeping it is another.

Ephedrine is good for weight loss, as is Phentermine. Or start exercising hard. Steroids are not a trouble free instant fix !

newbie advice thank you

Thanks to all for the replys. I so appreciate it! I was just researching alternative ways for weight loss and thought I'd throw out the question to those with experience. Obviously steroids are not the answer for me.
As for what my diet/exercise plan is, right now I am cycling burn/feed days. My metabolism has definately caught on to low calorie only so right now I am mixing it up trying to make my body guess. Low cal days are about 1200...45% carb, 35% protein, 25% fat. Feed days are about 2000-2300 calories with any mix of percentages.
As for exercise, it WAS 5 days a week cardio 30 minutes, 3 days strength. BUT I just had my second foot surgery in 4 months and will not be able to exercise for at least a month. Sigh.
Ephedra, meridia and phentermine have not worked for me at all so that is why I was shopping for alternatives.
Thanks again for your time. I'll just keep on with the diet.....

Sorry to hear about all the surgeries, I can sympathize. I had 4 knee surgeries and a back surgery and a neck surgery between 2007-2009.

As for the diet, you need to drop some carbs and up your protein. You are giving your body too much of an external source to use for fuel. Also, I'd cut the cardio back some. Too much cardio can actually be detrimental to fat loss because it inhibits muscle growth which increases metabolism. Obviously you wouldn't need to cut back as much as a guy that is bodybuilding, though. When you are able to get back doing cardio I'd do something like 3 days of low-intensity for 45 min-1hr and then 2 days of high-intensity for 30 min. Also, doing the cardio in a fasted state will help burn more fat as your body won't have another source of fuel.

Good Luck!
