Does anyone know of a good website that has a bunch of basic examples of IRAC torts?

Ex: Janice takes flowers from Ted's yard, is this conversion? etc.

I am using the Torts Personal Injury Litigation 4th Ed. by William P. Statsky and I really am not fond of the lack of examples it (fails to) presents with regards to IRAC format.

I've check out westlaw sites, not very user friendly and I am unable to find exactly what I need.

If this should be moved to the Legal discussion, I understand.

Thanks guys!

Websites... hmmm... I don't know of any. One good source may be your professor. I'd ask him or her; model answers to old exams are another good source.

For books... off the top of my head... I think there's a series called Examples&Explanations that might approach legal concepts in this type of format.

Are you looking for examples of how IRAC is applied across various problems, so as to acquire practice with the method itself, or do you prefer learning about legal concepts by this method? Or both?

I'm a bit confused by the question. Do you need help understanding how to IRAC by itself or how to IRAC in relation just to torts?

I agree with Heu. First, I'd ask your professor. I've only had a couple professors who didn't provide us some sample tests and model (or possible the best given by a student) answers. If your professor is asking for IRAC format then I'm sure the model answer will be correctly structured.

I like Examples & Explanations (we all call them E&Es). They might not write out for you step by step "this is the issue... this is the rule" but it should be pretty straightforward.

Law in a Flash & Q&As are useful but really only for multiple choice IME.

I don't know if CALI has examples but I'd be surprised if they don't. However, since it's a subscription you have to have a user name and password. My law school provided us access to this website. Maybe you could inquire with your school to see if they have access to this website as well?

Hey Thanks Heur and Amor... E&E is on its way to me.

I was basically just looking for examples of various torts in IRAC format. I understand basically how to write them, but I lack the know-how on properly facilitating cohesively. My instructor is lacking, no feedback whatsoever-- im pretty disappointed.

Winding, you might also try searching for other professors' model answers, or for tips on answering questions on exams. You should be able to find valuable results.

Hang in there!
