Topical Gabapentin, Usable?

I know gabapentin is somewhat recreational, but in a lipodermal formulation does a significant amount get absorbed into the bloodstream, or is it mostly local in action? Does all of it get absorbed into circulation, or does it merely stay in a local area to treat pain?

I searched and searched but found little to no information regarding topical gabapentin compound.
