Top 10 albums of all time. Tell me Bluelight.

if we piled these together the best bands of all time would be the beatles and pink floyd and are we in 1975 or 2010? Has music really gone nowhere in 40 years?

Skinny Puppy - Rabies
Bad Brains - Bad Brains
The Dresden Dolls - A is for Accident or self titled
Acid Bath - When The Kite String Pops/Paegan Terrorism Tactics
Bikini Kill - Pussywhipped
M.I.A - Arular
Black Sabbath - Vol 4
Mos Def - Black on Both Sides
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead

As far as entire albums, front to back go (in no orde)r:

Architecture in Helsinki - Fingers Crossed
Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die
Wu Tang Forever
The Antlers - Hospice
Animal Collective - Fall Be Kind (its an EP, but it has 2 of my favorite songs of all time on it so it gets an honorary 11th spot)

Yeah older doesn't always have mean better when it comes to music, but IMO only a few groups now or at least reccently are up to par......I'm thinking GrizzlyBear, Animal collective, Flaming Lips, Radiohead, Coldplay(1st album).

No particular Odor:

Willie Nelson- Red Headed Stranger
Judas Priest- Sad Wings of Destiny
Iron Maiden- Killers
Yngwie Malmsteen - Rising Force
Eluveitie- Evocation I - The Arcane Dominion
Queensryche- Operation Mindcrime
N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton
Iced Earth - Horror Show
Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
Al Di Meola - Kiss my Axe

Skinny Puppy - Rabies

I have to take issue with this--"Rabies" is the Skinny Puppy album that Al Jourgenson ruined. The singles, "Tin Omen" and "Warlock" are good, but given that Rabies is sandwiched between the band's likely career-bests, it can't really stand on the list.

ebola

In no particular order

Melt Banana--Scratch or Stitch
OK computer
King Crimson--In the Court of the Crimson King
Illmatic
Minor Threat s/t
Cpt. Beefheart--Trout Mask Replica
Earth--Earth 2
RFTC--Scream, Dracula, Scream
Dr. Dre--2001
I really want to include the new Shpongle because I love it but I guess that's for the ED forum....

^ Amon Tobin is revolutionary. I loved Piranha Breaks. I bought it a like 18, but I never started appreciating it until after I had started to get into Jazz, like John McLaughlin and such.
Super Modified is definitely a great intro to Tobin

This is how I felt today:

oh-a-w-oh
when i was just a little child
(little child)
happiness was there awhile
(there awhile)
and from me, it...
it slipped one day (ay)
happiness
come back I say

cause if you don't come
i've got to go looking...
for happiness

well if you don't come
i've got to go looking...
god, for happiness... happiness

say that
say i'm hurting
(inside) and its no...
i'm hurting
i'm hurting
deep inside

oh good god now

oh hear my cry
hear my cry
yeah my my my my my my my cry

been together like school children
(school children)
then you hurt me just in vain
(just in vain)
oh...
lord, i'm your little child
(little child)
oh
happiness come back awhile

cause if you don't come
i'm gong a looking
for happiness
the road is dangerous

cause if you don't come
i've got to go looking
for happiness...happiness

said I'm...
don't you know i'm...
i'm hurting, hurting inside

oh i'm hurting

who cares
who cares

does the one who love
oh
feel the pain
feel the pain

does the one who love
feel the pain
feel the pain

(been together)
been together like school children

Let's add Os Mutantes to the mix here. Very important band. They are like the Brazillian versioin of the Beatles but so much more than that. I don't really believe in comparisons like that but, they did take a lot of hallucinogens, (ando meio desligado=i'm feeling a little spaced out) make some incredibly inventive music fusing 60's energy, humor, funny pronunciations of spanish, and badassery. Rita Lee is one of my favorite female vocalists hands down.
