There you have it. The best seven albums ever, by artists who dared to be completely original and were lucky enough to be successful and wound up changing music. Most of these bands only gained cult followings but are always often listed as inspirations for more mainstream bands. Honorable mentions / picks from this thread I sort of agree with:

Skinny puppy - Vivisect V, although my favorite album of theirs has always been last rights. I hope the puppy fans in this thread know how much the band borrowed from throbbing gristle though!

too dark park is my favorite, although vivisect vi contains dogshit, which is my favorite skinny puppy song. and genesis p-orridge is absolutely batfuck crazy in a really cool way. i recently saw a documentary on burroughs, and p-orridge stated that he was one of the biggest influences on throbbing gristle.
i have every skinny puppy album, but for some reason i only ripped vivisect vi, too dark park and rabies. i'm gonna correct that now. i haven't listened to mind: the perpetual intercourse in fucking forever.
