Bupe Tooth root abcess while on suboxone

Help!

I currently take 24 mg of sub and now have a tooth root abscess which hurts like hell. The dentist gave me a script for cleocin (antibiotic) and apap-codeine (knows I take sub). When will the codeine kick in? Why doesn't suboxone help with my tooth? Any other opiates I can use or do I just have to suffer until the root canal on Thursday?

Fuck suboxone, I'm not going thru this shit again.
 
^This, the codeine will be a placebo more or less with that dosage of Suboxone.

Sorry to hear about your teeth man, at least you did the right thing by seeing your dentist.
 
Problem is, the dentist cannot operate until the abcess is gone.

You might give non-opiate pain relievers a chance, like ibuprofen, metamizole and even aspirin. They're generally weaker than opiates, but since you're tolerant to opiates they may bring more relief in your case. If you take the highest dosage available of aspirin or ibuprofen, you should get substantial relief.

Of course, lines of good coke will completely numb your upper jaw, and even your lower jaw if you rub it directly on it.

Unless your from the UK then it will just give you a nose bleed and leave you with a big hole in your bank balance...
 
^You can also acquire a non-stimulant local anaesthetic such as benzocaine, which is available OTC in most places (the United States I know for sure)
 
If I was you I'd order Kratom, as well as go back to the dentist and ask him what the hell was he thinking giving you an opiate knowing your on suboxone, it's quite useless especially one as weak as codeine, and could possibly cause precipiated wd, if you take the codeine at some point after the sub is out of your body and then take another sub a short time after, tell him you need Tramadol and Prescription strength Aleve or other ant inflammatory pain reliever. you could try to get through with just that and lay off the sub for a few days and THEN use your codeine script that is if u think you can handle it, addiction-wise and all, I hope you feel better this sounds like a bad situation to be in and I am in a similar one, now, except no suboxone I just can't afford the dentist lol
 
This is like my worst nightmare being a sub patient. This or the traumatic car accident scenerio where morphine is useless and paramedics look at you all crazy as your screaming for the high dose fentanyl.
 
well the codine really isnt gonna do shit. the suboxone isnt helping because you clearly have a high tolerance to opiates and you can really only get fucked up off subs if you have no tolerance. i would personally just do dope, do enough to bypass the suboxone and then once this tooth thing is gone, stop doing it.

How many men do you know named Missy (just busting you)? I'm a girl but thanks just the same.

I have no clue why the fuck I'm on such a high sub dose but I want off of this stuff. I've been off the sub for a few days now and the codeine is helping but it's probably the APAP that's helping. Also, all the salt/hot water rinses have helped the abscess begin to drain (totally gross) which has relieved some of the pressure. I can't wait to have a root canal--how many people say that? You have to take care of your teeth. At least the dentist will be able to save the tooth and place a crown over it. I ignored a cracked filling because it didn't hurt until now. I was really afraid that it would have to be extracted and that would have broken my heart to be toothless. If all you have the money for is an extraction, well, that's life.

This is it, it's time to taper off the suboxone, esp 24 mg.
