Took kratom earlier, can I take Tramadol now?

Yesterday, about 22 hours ago I took one dose of 5g Maeng Da kratom. It seems to be pretty strong stuff. I've taken similar doses (3-8 grams) for the last three days. Today I got some Tramadol and I plan to take 300mg on its own, which is my normal dose.

However, I looked at some different sites and it seems like combining these two might reduce my seizure threshold, or might otherwise modify some of the effects, because both drugs affect serotonin. I've seen threads of people combining both drugs, but never with such a high dose of Tramadol. Usually they seem to take 100mg or so.

I looked up the half-life of kratom and considering other variables (such as my weight), I don't think I've reached the half-life yet. I don't actually feel any obvious effects of the kratom though.

So my question is, since I probably still have a decent amount of kratom in my system, is it dangerous to take the Tramadol today? Even though the kratom isn't really "active", will it reduce my seizure threshold? Thanks.

When i’ve combined these it produced a brutal headache that was causing me to throw up. Worst headache of my life, I’d say wait at least a day with no kratom to take tramadol. If you can help it i would say two days with no kratom is ideal if you want no interaction.

Thanks for the advice. I already took the Tramadol before I got your reply though. Interestingly enough, it gave me a headache as well, all around my head. It wasn't bad enough to make me throw up though. I found that if I just ignored it I could forget about it for the most part.

Other than that everything went well. It took a bit longer than usual for the Tramadol buzz to come on, and it sort of slowly crept up on me rather than starting off with its usual strength. Who knows if that was related to the kratom though.

No problem, i guess tramadol and kratom causes headaches then. Not that’s two people is much of a sample size but your experience definitely reinforced my experience and i’ll definitly never be mixing them again.
