Took diazepam and zopiclone- still stupified after 12+ hours sleep

So I went to a hardcore rave on friday. When i got home I took a zopiclone to sleep. Got maybe a few hours sleep but was feeling ace anyhow due to a great trip and little comedown thanks to the blessed 5-htp.

I had a fresh gram of diazepam powder but no scales (they had arrived in the post but the concierge had them locked in the building so I couldn't access them till I saw them and he must have already gone home).

So still feeling a lil groggy I decided to 'eyeball' the diazepam dosage. I have never had diazepam powder before so took only a tiny amount and waited an hour.

I felt a tiny bit 'fluffier' as I usually do after having one of my dad's 5mg pills but not too noticeable. So I took another dose a lil more sizable. Maybe a little more but I still questioned placebo. So around 8 pm I scrapped up a bigger dose still on a card with a thicker consistency, hard to say the size but I'd guess around 8mg.

I now felt comfortably numb. I listened to music then some audio novel and felt the urge to go to bed so did so.

Although I was lying in bed I was not falling asleep as fast as I'd like. After lying there for 30 mins or so I decided I'd take half a 7.5mg (so 3.25) zopiclone as I imagine half a pill wouldn't make much of a difference in terms of interactions. Last I know I must have dropped off within 15-20 mins.

I awoke and it was light and only as I needed to piss. As I got up it was as if my body was lead and I found it a very considerable effort to make it to the bathroom and urinate. I did so then happily stumbled back to bed and immediately dropped back to sleep.

I awoke a couple times but then would immediately go back to sleep again.

When I finally awoke for the last time I checked the clock and I must have slept for around 12 hours total. Now this is UNHEARD of for me as I regularly have insomnia hence the prescription of zopiclone tablets which the doc has given me and usually only sleep for around 4 hours a night.

As I tried to move then my head and body still felt heavy as lead.

Usuaully if I have zopiclone alone or in the past when I've had a low dose of diazepam- even up to 20mgs I feel very refreshed as soon as I awoke. This morning however I felt extremely lethargic and could barely lift myself out of bed.

As I tried to walk to my computer I was stumbling all over the place.

Now I am wondering what the cause of this is- could it be that, not weighing out my diazepam doses I prob took too much and it's still giving me a heady effect, or could it be the zopiclone and diazepam interacted with one another to cause a synergictic effect; or, both?

I find it strange cos I thought after such a long time , even with the diazepam I thought that would have worn off by now.

Fortunately, being a sunday I have nothing to do today but it is rather a nuisance being in such a stupor. I tried to lie in bed just then to try and sleep it off again but it seems my body doesn't want any more after 12 hours.

Like I say my scales have arrived but are in 'holding' so I won't make the overdosing mistake again I just wanna know what the likely cause of this is.

I am thinking if diazepam has a long half life then maybe as I kept redosing I was piling up the doses before each had taken full effect although I was trying to make sure I left 30mins-1hour between doses.

That or some kind of synergistic effect between the diaz and zopiclone.

Thoughts?

Also any tips on how to get rid of this stupified state other than waiting it out? I tried drinking some coffee but it didn't do shit!

After writing this I had something to eat even though I felt some nausea.

I then crawled back into bed and fell swiftly into slumber once again.

I thought I was dreaming watching this kind of anime cartoon where this square ship was chasing this long sausage shaped ship then when I came to my senses I realized I was just staring at my light switch and door handle.

I now feel alot more refreshed, though still somehwat groggy, and looking at the clock I must have slept about another 3 or 4 hours as it's now 6pm.

combo q over to BDD.

sounds like youre still messed up from the diaz and zopiclone. don't go taking any other doses of either or any kind of CNS depressant (alcohol. benzos, opiates, etc) until you're cleared it up/

sleep it off best as possible.

I'm guessing you took a very large dose of the diazepam. In low doses, like 5/15 mg i wake up feeling a okay, however with doses like 20/30 mg i sleep alot longer than expected & may still feel like going back to bed for 8 hours after the whole night!

I imagine you are past this by now & may never read this but if you are a smoker i hear nicotine reduces blood levels of diazepam, so a pack of king marlboros may be in order!

Taking my supplier in good faith presuming he gave me an exact g of diaz, weighing it up today with the scales would say I had 12mg.

Now I doubt it was exactly a g as what dealer does it RIGHT to the g (unless they are good friends)? Anyhow my tolerance to benzos is really low as I hardly ever have them.

How long does it stay working for?

I found it confusing reading on google where it says from 20-100 hours, that's quite a margin of a difference!?

I also just read on wiki that it has a 'biphasic half life of 1-3 to 2-7 days'.

So which is it?

Also to note I think that low dopamine levels could also have attributed to such a long bout of lethargy- through to today (monday).

I was still feeling really weak this morning (monday) and also had the blues.

I took 200mgs of 5-htp to no avail.

Soon after I remembered the deadly lethargy I would suffer after taking mephedrone which would often last up to a week if I didn't suppplement.

I would find myself craving food and binge eating. I thought this was just cos I had not eaten and so my body just wanted food until I did some reading on methamphetamine addiction recovery which said that you only crave food cos your body is craving dopamine rather than actually needing food.

So to test the hypothesis I went to my scales and noticed all my binge eating had made me put on over half a stone! (7+ lbs) whcih would obv conclude my body didn;t actually need the food after all. So from then on instead of eating any junk food I just ate some l-tyrosine and it sealed the cravings right up as well as the morbid thought patterns bringing my mood back to a steady level.

Before my head was still feeling cloudy foggy and remorseful so I took 1000mg of l-tyrosine and I have perked up like nicely.

Around 30 mins after taking the tyrosine I feel much much better and perky/nearing some semblance of normality.

I'm wondering how soon is safe to take tyrosine after taking mdma though cos I've read that dopamine causes neurotoxicity when taking mdma. This was days after so I presume that wouldn't be an issue.

I'm guessing the overall lethargy was a mix of both low dopamine and the diazepam cos I definitely felt the 'leadhead' characteristic of diazepam through sunday rather than just lethargy.
