So I have extreme anxiety, 24/7, as a result of mdma abuse and piperazine.

I took a xanax before going out to eat with my girlfriend, felt pretty calm, then 30 minutes later had to run out of the restaurant because of a sudden panic attack.

How is this possible? I thought I was going to pass out and wake up a mental patient.

I need help. My anxiety is SO FUCKING BAD.

I cry and cry, feel so uneasy, on the verge of a panic attack every minute. Its been a year of this suffering.

I can't even to put into words episodes and sensations I have felt.

How much Xanax? It can be a good benzo, but not the best for everyone. Klonipin is a bit more "calming" IMO, even though it doesn't provide the kick that Xanax does.

Im prescribed .5mg but I split them in half. So I had .25 in my system.

I only take them when I feel like I'm losing my mind, otherwise I try not to make it anything close to a habit and endure the suffering.

Its been a year to this date, and I figured my brain would recover. Well I was wrong. I've been putting off SSRI's and Benzos for as long as possible, because I didn't want to become a slave to them :\

I guess anxiety and depression aren't just going to fade away like I thought.

I too suffer from anxiety issues and panic attacks although yours seem much worse than mine. I am sorry to hear about this and really hope that you can talk to your doctor and get some sort of resolution worked out. In the mean time, I welcome you to come to The-Dark-Side where you can find a warm and welcoming group of people who can really offer you up some help and advice. Take care!

xanax for me SOMETIMES does the opposite, it makes me more anxious at times rather then working for panic attacks, or it can be due to the short duration it provides also which caused more panic.

Yes. i prefer klonopin, it doesnt hit me as rapidly, klonopin is smooth and leaves u less feeling impaired...klonopin seems to relax my muscles and mind, while xanax just gives me a strong kick of mental relief which sometimes causes confusion, which makes me feeling more anxious, or irritable.

Less is more! Try it..works for a lot of people that take benzos for real issues. Or maybe try a different benzo like clonazepam (klonopin)

As mentioned multiple times, clonazepam will fair better in dealing with your anxiety, IMO. Xanax isn't for everyone. Many people find it overly intoxicating as compared to something with a long half life like clonazepam.

"Less is more" is quality advice when it comes to benzos. The smallest possible effective dosage is what you're aiming for.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to give SSRI's a shot. For some people they are miracle drugs in terms of anxiety reduction. Seeing as you think your anxiety was caused by excessive MDMA abuse, it is possible that SSRIs might help you quite a bit. As for becoming "a slave to them," I don't really know what you mean. The withdrawal/abstinence syndrome from SSRIs can be uncomfortable, but with a dose taper it is honestly not bad (speaking from experience w/ Zoloft (sertraline) and Lexapro (escitalopram)).

Good luck. Anxiety disorders suck. Removing caffeine from my diet also helped a lot w/ anxiety. No coffee!! And 0.25mg alprazolam is a very small dose.

if you have paradoxical effects to medications it's best to avoid them in the future. they're a lot more common in older (aging) patients rather than younguns. fortunately i've never had paradoxical effects from any meds i've been prescribed. though the few SSRI's i've tried have been horrific, suffering from the worst of the worst possible side effects.

It gets better OP
Abuse to your 5HT system takes a long time to heal. I know it sucks, but keep on truckin.

the best benzo for anxiety tends to be clonazepam; it's the best of all possible worlds without being as stupidly strong/addictive as xanax or euphoric/drowsying as diaze- or temaze-pam. [which are my fave, but i get scripted klono].

most any headshrinker you see will prescribe you clonazepam. possibly bromazepam or diazepam or lorazepam but they're all pretty much the same. klono is just kind of a middle ground of all those, the archetypal one so to speak [as well as valium, but the problem with that is a) the stigma and b) euphoria [more likely to abuse for many people] and c) more drowsying I find than clonazepam.

I don't like xanax. It's too addictive and strong - it's the crack of benzos.
