Took 40mg of Adderall XR + red wine and fell asleep in the middle of intercourse

Hi everyone, I just wanted to know is this normal or weird? I visited my boyfriend yesterday night. I took two 20mg generic adderall XR pills an hour before I got to his house. I arrived around 11pm, then proceeded to drink about three glasses of red wine while watching a movie. After that, my boyfriend and I were fooling around and I started getting really drowsy, and next thing I know, I wake up with my boyfriend staring down at me looking very confused and concerned. Apparently I had fallen asleep for 10 minutes. My question is, I thought mixing adderall and alcohol was supposed to negate the depressant, drowsy feeling that alcohol gives? I was so sleepy I had to take another 20mg pill just to make the drive home! This has never happened to me before as I have mixed alcohol and adderall before with no problems.

lol! this is hilarious. umm maybe you just blacked out? i can never fall asleep on adderal even mixing it with a few drinks. i have no idea.

you got spiked : / JK, im not sure it would seem that the adderal wouldnt allow you to sleep especially because you didn't have much to drink. I got no clue

Alcohol (and most other GABAergics) completely kill the amphetamine buzz for many people. Just don't drink next time!

Or, just split a glass, and don't have 3 glasses.

if you have a high tolerance to adderall or if you've been using it daily for a while sometimes it really loses it's stimulatory effect. It also depends alot on your body chemistry at any given moment, like acidic things will render adderall less effective. I almost fell asleep on a 25mg XR adderall the other night and I was in a night club with lots of people and moderately loud music and I only had one beer.

It's a real let down when your girlfriend falls asleep during sex. ugh.
