Hey I posted in basic drug forum but I think I should of done it here so sorry for kind of double posting. My doc prescribed me Valium 10mg to take 2 times a day for a month. When i went to the pharmacy I only picked up 30 of them, I didn't know about the rule that I have to wait 2 weeks from the day I got the first 30 to get the rest of my script. Anyway I am ashamed to say that yes I abused them, and I feel very stupid for doing so. I will never make the mistake of not following my doctors orders. Seriously how stupid can I be? Anyway, bashing myself here. I haven't been on benzos for a long time. Only about a month or 2 at most. I know that Valium has a very long half life. I have to wait about 6 days to get my refill. Do you guys think that I will get any W/D's or will the Valium just stay in my system long enough to not feel any W/D's? I don't know if this would help but I am 24 and weigh 152 lbs. So yea, also do you think that Soma's would help ease or get rid of W/D's if I do get them by chance? Thank you in advance.

soma would definitely help but it's tough to say. First withdrawal is always the easiest though. If you've been taking diazepam everyday for more than a month, you'll get rebound systems most likely, anxiety, insomnia, maybe some other small issues, soma will probably cover most of it up.

This only counts for your first withdrawal though, each and every single one after the first will become more and more terrible. You are probably fine for now but take a step back and think about whether you really want to be on diazepam for an extended period of time. If you have to be, stay at the lowest dose possible. I won't preach about benzos or anything but your first withdrawal is a free pass, it's easy as shit compared to a real withdrawal, so take it easy, use soma and you'll be fine. However in the future, expect full nasty withdrawals, especially if you abuse it and even if not, you will still become dependent on diazepam if you follow your Dr's instructions, so keep that in mind.

valium will stay in your system for a long ass time but when i was tapering, i could feel a dose drop within the day i did it, so that long half life won't prevent a withdrawal, it'll probably hold you for 3 days or so though especially if this is your first withdrawal.

Thanks for the response....yea I hope that the half life lasts at least 3 days...I really don't want to be on valium...I'm gonna taper off of them after this month..I just can't get my mind off of thinking about withdrawal...I don't have any yet...like I said hope i don't get any for a few days..praying for that...but I know benzos are not to mess with and I don't want to learn my lesson the hard way...as soon as I can i will taper off of them. I've read how people have depersonalization for over a year...that's insane and very scary

the more you focus on the withdrawal the worse it will be - trust me it won't be too bad, get out now while you can and you'll recover quickly and easily. I pretty much have depersonalization permanently from benzo use but it took a lot of abuse to get there. Don't scare yourself with the stories.

Yeah I am definitely getting off it ASAP...I do not want to deal with the D/P i just don't get how that can be permanent though...i can't imagine living like that...I'm sorry to hear that you have to deal with that...but ill try not to scare myself with all the horror stories about benzos
