took 105mg of adderall at work and my friend told me I smelled like shit

I always smell like shit, but I bathe constantly, I don't use amphetamines, however. But, I have heard of this phenomena, and would contribute it to increased sweating. Probably something more than that, but that's all I can think of.

Lol what causes this? It's more than just sweat.

Perhaps it was an ammonia-like odor your co-worker was noticing?

When the body needs energy to burn, but glucose levels in the blood have been depleted, the body will utilize amino acids (proteins) as fuel instead. A by-product of the conversion of amino acids to energy is ammonia, which must be removed from the body because high levels of ammonia are toxic.

In normal circumstances, the liver traps this ammonia by binding it to carbon dioxide to form urea, which is passed through the kidneys to be eliminated from the body in urine. But, the liver/kidneys can only process so much ammonia in a given time. When the concentration of ammonia/urea become too great for this process to handle, the body must find another way to dispose of these substances. It does so by excreting the excess ammonia and urea in sweat.

If you Google "ammonia body odor," you will find many people complaining about this problem after intense workouts. It can be thought of as a sign that you are pushing your bodies metabolism passed what it can handle under normal circumstances.

Staying well hydrated and keeping up the intake of carbohydrates are the usual suggestions to help avoid this.

hope that helps!

Yep.

I used to smell horrible after working all day on lots of Dexedrine. Lots of sweating too.

I believe that's where the "smelling like meth" urban myth comes from.
