Too Much??

Just wondering if this seems like I've overdone it a little bit.
Since Christmas Ive probably tripped on LSD about 15 times. no other psychedelics.
I worked that out into monthly and it sorta scared me a little bit, combining that with the little amount of HPPD, ( still being able to see patterns on the carpets and such when concentrated on it) scares the f*** out of me.
Any thoughts?

"Too Much" is going to vary from person to person. I can say I have done it a lot more than 15 times, and I feel fine and no HPPD symptoms.

Other than a little amount of HPPD... how do you feel?

Why does seeing patterns when you stare at an intricately detailed field scare you? Your visual system does that naturally, and was already doing that before acid taught you to notice it. Get over it.

You can see Optical Illusions that arent really there as well. Does that scare you too?

15 times in 8 months? Yeah that's not very much compared to lots of heavier trippers, you'll be fine.

That's fairly moderate. Also, when you concentrate on most things, even when you are ignorant to psychedelics, the patterns or textures will move. It is a common phenomenon that most people always notice after they trip. 13/15 drug free people I know have described it to me when I ask, and I'm sure you could find a more scientific explanation elsewhere about it. Regardless, worrying about taking LSD once a month is pretty silly. You're being quite responsible.

^ This also, I thought one of my friends was crazy when he said he could see patterns move by staring at surfaces before he ever tripped, but apparently it's at least somewhat common. There is still a difference between this and mild HPPD though, but it's nothing to worry about.

This was an obvious a situation where something that I don't fully understand has scared me. I overreacted and was stressing as before LSD use I had no idea that the patterns even existed, so I figured i might ask people on there opinions. Is there really a need to be a smart arse?

Its probably me just over reacting, the main thing that had me convinced I was suffering from HPPD was the eye floaters that were never noticed before and the patterns that I could start to see on my carpet in my room. ( that was only after my 13th time) before that I never noticed the ones on my carpet. Along with the occasional faces in trees and stuff like that. But apart from all that I feel physically healthy. And I know that there are many many people who have tripped hundreds of times and come out of it pretty normal. Probably just an over reaction.

You might have some mild HPPD symptoms, but those go away for most people if you abstain or a few months. Doesn't sound like you overdid it.

First of all, welcome to Blue Light.

(sigh, rude motherfuckers)

As others have said you don't have much to worry about. For most people the mild HPPD symptoms you describe go away after a few months. Most of us don't mind them, however, and some of us see it as one of the perks of psychedelics. Some of the best times of my life existed in the afterglow in the hours, days, weeks, and months after a strong trip. Flashbacks can happen, but most are mild and somewhat control-able. I've had them before when really relaxed, while smoking weed, or taking a big dump (someone should bump the b&d psychedelic poop thread haha), but never while driving or doing something that required concentration. Most of the time when it happened I went with it as much as I could because, hey, free trip. I think I would snap out of it in an instant if I had to.

Yes I do need to be a smart arse. My blood pressure goes up when I try to block it ;)

Of course there is no need for you to take it personally and let it bug you. Sarcasm is nothing to be afraid of, it is one of the classic human traits. Don't let it get you down, just roll with it like Punch and Judy.

Loosen up a little and learn to take a little ribbing with good humor.

I think tripping might help you learn that.

Good luck, bud.

Lingering effects go away after a few weeks/months away from psychedelics. Some are worse than others - 2C-I does it real bad, LSD is not as bad, but it's noticably worse than most IME. No other ones stood out.

Usually start to notice it if i trip 3 weekends in a row or so...

For me, since XMas - 22 trips on typical psychedelics (stuff like LSD, though mostly not LSD), plus a handful of low-dose experiences on NMDA antagonists and a few experiments with 5-APB and* aMT at lowish doses. Minor lingering visuals, particularly in the dark. Not nearly as bad as when I was taking 2C-I (low doses though 6-12mg, not high doses or nothing) most every weekend for a couple months. Stopped tripping for a month or so and they were gone.

*Not at the same time, of course.

Thanks for the welcome :). And yeah I've read up a fair amount more and realized I'm just worrying over nothing haha. I actually noticed one of these "free trips"' the other day. I was pretty fatigued and walking home at about 9pm, and due to all of my trips being at night, and me sometimes walking the streets looking at shit haha. The street definatly looked different. Nothing intense, but definatly different...
