Hi, I posted this on another site yesterday but haven't had any responses I'm hoping fellow blueliter's can offer some advice or theories. This incident just happened yesterday. I'll update in the next post. Please excuse the Swim talk, I haven't been on drug boards in several years and didn't know the slang had changed. Also feel free to move this if its in the wrong section, Thanks
Greetings! since i typed so much, many of you may not have the time or even want to read the full details so i'll try and sum everything up below in the bold. Please excuse the spelling and my grammar isn't the best these days.....
Swim is 30, because he didn't have a job and health insurance he hasn't been able to purchase his ADD and Depression meds in over a year. Its been very hard for him since he also suffers severely from Chronic Fatigue... Swim found someone with 50 Vyvanese (20mg), He's been taking 40mg most days but 1 day he took 100mg with absolutely no bad issues and last night til around noon today he took 160mg of Vyvanese. All was fine until he took a 20mg pill around noon, that was at least 4 hours since his last pill and Swim didn't have any side effects or warnings other than looking tired. Anyways about half an hour after taking that pill as Swim laid in bed on his laptop, he become very light headed, his heart sped up, his vision got blurry at times and he was dizzy when standing. Swim has prayed and vowed not to play around with these drugs for recreational use anymore. Swim had a scare with cocaine 9 years ago at the age of 21 and stuck to his promise..Swim hasn't messed with it since. Back to the subject, its been about 7 hours since the initial scare and heart racing.....2 hours ago when i started typing this thread, i would've told you the worst was over and how relieved I was for my friend Swim but i've had to stop several times because swim would get really lite-headed and uncomfortable. Do you guys think the worst is over? Vyvanese isn't timed released i think they say your body slowly digest it....can someone explain for Swim's current situation is that a good thing or bad thing? Also any remedies or advice? This is just a brief summary. Thanks for your prayers, time and help.
So after a year away from his ADD medicine because of no health insurance ( swim was taking 20 mg adderalls) swim got some meds this week from a buddy. Basically swim lost his job and insurance last year so his life has been confused without his ADD and Depression Medicines. Swim has CFS and that's the toughest part about not having meds (always drowsy, tired, down, no energy, etc....). Anyways over a year ago before Swim lost his job and insurance...swim basically needed 3 pills a day to comfortably get his work done (10 hour shifts) and swim had a buddy who would spare him 10-- 30mg a month. swim rarely abused adderralls but he did on a few weekend nights he did take 5 pills (100mg) and one time 6 20's in about 12 hours (120mg). But, that was on less than 5 occasions in 2 years.
By Swim losing his job he obviously lost his health insurance. So Swim, hoped through his buddy he'd keep being able to get the adderalls from him and use only when really needed.. Unfortunately Swim's friend moved to another state and swim couldn't afford the street price another guy had. So for the past year Swim has really struggled, Swim loves what adderrall did for his ADD but he REALLY loves what it did for his Chronic Fatigue!
Let's Fast Forward to the present times! Swim has been back employed for over a month now (Praise God!) but no insurance for another couple months. Swim found out a buddy had 20mg Vyvanese. Swim was disappointed and happy. A year ago swims friend had been switched from adderall so Swim got over 50 30mg Vyvanese and they didn't do anything for swim until swim popped 3 at a time and it still never gave Swim the morning boost adderall did. Anyways last week Swim got fifty 20mg Vyvanese. Day 1 60 mg for a 12 hour shift Swim did pretty good. Basically for a week swim has been taking 60 to 80mg Vyvanese a day and Swim has been doing so much better and was feeling better at first (but that's another thread).
Then here came last night, swim had already took 4 to make it through his 12 hour shift. Swim came home took another 2 pills to give that extra energy to do little things swim usually puts off (washing clothes, cleaning up, repairs, etc...). Swim got home and took 2 pills, a few minutes later Swim felt that good feeling that Adderall use to give him then it quickly went awa. Long story short Swim ended taking 8 pills (160mg)in probably a 16 or 17 hour span. Swim spent the night browsing the internet (swim spent several hours going down friends list looking at pretty women on facebook). In that process, every hour or 2 swim would pop another pill, while doing some lite drinking. The sun comes out and Swim hasn't had more than 4 hours of straight sleep in 4 or 5 days...Swim knows he has has to go back to work in less than 24hours, swim needs some sleep, that not sleeping is going to show up in Swim's face and eyes real quick and swim doesn't need his new bosses wondering about his dark circles, sweating and weight loss....at least that's what happened on swim's last job. Swim called it quits on the pills probably around 8am. Swim tossed and turned for hours trying to sleep, he tried to bore himself watching certain programs, finally swim gave in and got back on the computer (looking at pretty women). It's about 120pm and swim hasn't took a pill since around 8am! swim decided he was going to take 1 more pill, he did it about 12:15, about 30 minutes later while laying down, swim notices his heart racing much faster than usual, swim starts getting very light headed(while laying down and standing up) swim begins to worry. swim goes to the kitchen to some water and a powerade. any position swim got in he felt the same, swim became very worried that it could be a heart attack. Swim felt like if he blacked out that could easily be it, swim hadn't felt that helpless in years. Swim felt like there was nothing he could do to prevent what he perceived to be a possible heart attack? Swim got his knees and started begging Jesus Christ. No offense to the non religious, i'm just telling the story I saw. Swim stayed on his knees praying for a few minutes and he felt his body was calming down, he got up, got in bed and a couple of minutes later swim was on his knees praying again. Swim just stayed on his knees that time, he didn't get up for about 15 minutes.
So that was roughly 3.5 to 4 hours ago since then Swim has been laying on his stomach in bed, laying on his back and other positions are scary because he gets light headed and his breathes start racing. After a couple hours Swim has finished a 32oz powerade, a 16oz bottle of water and ate 2 burgers and fries. That's more than swim has eaten in 4 days. Swim even took a tinkle (btw the urine was a dark yellow but waaaaay lighter than some colors Swim saw in the past when he wasn't living right).
The questions i'm asking for my friend Swim is..... is Swim out of the woods? meaning is he good now? is the worst over or is he at risk all night? Swim is in bed right now on his laptop, his head starts spinning for 20 seconds or so then stop for 5 minutes and starts back. Swim didn't feel in danger walking to the kitchen or bathroom like when it first started swim knew he was likely to pass out if he walked, I thank God again! Hopefully the big risk is over since its been over 4 hours since Swim popped his last pill his body has seemed to calm down but he said he just got very light headed for about 20 seconds and he's laying down, he also said his vision gets blurry then clears up...What do you guys think was going on the verge of having a heart attack, dehydration, panick attack, blood pressure, etc....? And do you think he's safe now?
Of course I searched before making this thread, it seems i'm hearing 2 different things--- on is the worst over...1 guy was saying since vyvanese doesn't release all the goods at 1 time, more doses are going to be released and if your body doesn't get rid of it before those doses are released there could be bigger trouble...but then 1 guy comes in and says Vyvanese isn't timed released so you don't have to worry about that, then the other guy came back and said....if it's sitting there waiting be released we have a problem on our hands....so i don't know?
Swim has vowed to no longer use amphetamines (Adderall, Vyvanese, etc...) for recreational use other than maybe popping an extra to stay up for a function.... Swim does feel like he needs meds to help him get through the day (if you've never lived with CFS its no joke, especially when your 30 years old and all your friends are full of energy.
God willingly, if everything works out ok tonight with swim, swim's plan is to not take a pill for work tomorrow. Swim is going to try and survive off an energy drink, he thinks it'll be too risky to put another pill in his system in the morning (basically swim has about 16 hours before he returns to work). Swim is very worried about getting some rest for he wont have another off day for 5 days. he's also worried about his appearance, focus and energy so he really wants to get 10 hours of sleep.
update Swim just went to the bathroom again, unfortunately he become super light headed and is currently in bed worried if he should go to sleep, he now feels as if he's slightly sleepy but him being light headed, dizzy and the blurry vision has become more regular in the past 30 minutes...When I first started making this thread i was feeling like the worst was over now i'm starting to worry, please pray that Swim will be ok and I know he's learned his lesson.
Any advice on any home remedies, does and don't are appreciated. Thanks
God Bless
A quick update, Swim got 10 hours of sleep last night, ate some Chinese food he had in the refrigerator and drunk a little powerade (unfortunately swim couldn't force himself to drink the entire 32oz or an entire bottle of water). Swim also at a banana! After 10 hours of sleep, swim feels a little depressed this morning and is worried about work tonight. Swim is scheduled to work 12 hours (13 hours with lunch break). Swim is on his feet most of his shift, Swim is worried since he is still mildly light-headed this morning. He's still drowsy like and feels like it'll be a super rough night. Anyone think it'll be ok for Swim to take a vyvanse tonight? it would be about 28 hours since the last take which ended up being very scary. Think it'll be ok to take 1 and let it get swim through 13 hours of work or just try an energy drink? swim has 4 hours before work. Swim feels much better today but is still concerned with feeling light headed, weak and depressed. thanks
