So I've just had a letter through saying someone's made an insurance claim against me, and I really can't afford for my insurance premium to go up at all. So I'm feeling pretty shit and I want some codeine or something to chill me out. Only, I've done codeine quite a bit this week... Monday, Wednesday and yesterday. So my question is, is it a good idea to do it again today, or am I risking addiction?

Well, the pharmacist says, 'No more than 3 days in a row or you will get addicted'.............
I dont think you'd risk addiction, imo, but the reason 'why' you want to be taking it may be risking addiction.

Well I usually take it to get high, and as such spread my doses out and am very cautious about becoming addicted. This was a bad week though I have to admit, normally I only do it on monday and tuesday for work and that's it. Today I want to take it so I don't feel shit. I would say today's reason is more justified than usual.

You wont get addicted per say, nor will you suffer any physical withdrawals. But if you keep using in this fasion it could be a slippery slope.

Even being addicted to just codeine isnt going to be fun, but if you do get addicted you will probably inevitably source stronger opiates and then yeah. A year from now you're shooting 5 bags of skag in taco bell bathroom.

But to put it in perspective, you could use like you are, 4 times a week, for months and you're not going to develop any physical addiction. So go dose your codeine.

I'm lucky in a way, I have no contacts at all. I have to get my weed off third/fourth parties because I don't know anyone. So I don't have to worry about doing anything stronger.

Yeah you will be fine man, dosn't sound like you're like me, once i start using i just keep using until something fucks with my using..

Dose your codeine guilty free my friend.:)

Plus doesn't codeine have a max effect @4,000mg anyway. That's like 40mg of morphine. Yeah you'll be fine!

4 fucking grams 8o?! I hope your joking, please do not think it is alright to take 4 grams of codeine.
The ceiling dose of codeine is something like 700mg, which means anymore and you wont feel any different, although some people think otherwise.

My tolerance is bad, but not that bad! I'm only on about 300mg per dose. Wow... 4 grams lol.

Obviously that guy either read the wrong shit or is trying to kill someone.
Nah 300mg isnt that bad though, im still only on 150mg but i will be upping it on friday 8).

No the ceiling dose is more around 400 - max 500mg. And around 10% is converted into morphine.

There's been a lot of personal experiences posted recently suggesting that there is no ceiling dose, or at least it is a lot higher than 500mg. If I remember correctly, Mr Blonde is one of those people.

Yes, it does. Methylphenidate surprisingly is one too. that sound like a great combo. Carbamazepine is another one. Barbiturates do too. Ethanol is another one.

As for the ceiling dose I'm pretty sure it exists, but it might vary from person to person. Some people might have awesome super-mutated liver enzymes that crave morphine. I've never dosed above 420mg personally (too much itching, no more pleasant than 360mg in any way really).

Anyway, you don't sound like you're risking addiction at least yet, unless you continue that habit for ages. Every now and then is not that addictive, and codeine isn't massively addictive by opiate standards.
