Missed two doses...couldn't get anything. Been on opiates for a lil over a year every day...couldn't have any for about 24 hours....woke up with giant pupils chills sweats all the stomach things...could barely move soooo cold...bla bla bla. I would have tried to get some more, wasn't wanting to go cold turkey at all but for some reason i have this motivation out of no where to quit now :s..took some tylenol gravol and loperamide....passed out for about 20 min...woke up a lil better...then got wayyy sicker for a few hours. got up took more of everything and clonazepam.....dont think the clonazepam did much. I have huuge tolerance and only took 3. then had some water layed on the couch...tried sex haha thought it might help...was a lil too sick for it though couldnt even move and almost threw up ha. just layed down for a while watching random shows all night. and taking some more loperamide and 3 more clonazepam...and now i feel....not great...pupils still a tiny bit big slight chills but restlessness is gone no more throwing up shakes gone can move around without any pain no fever no cramping still have a sick bum...sorry tmi...but holy shit been taking 6-12 immodium at once and that parts still not going away. Im scared this is the calm before the storm. Last time it took' a week to feel even a little better..Could it be the immodium or could this just be some kinda accelrated withdrawl? I hope its not the calm before the storm..Can wd ever just be a 48 hour thing? :s lol Tis a miracle or a tease???

I find the first couple days kind of easy. Its days 4-5-6 that tend to be the absolute worst for me. If you have just been chipping you might be through the worst of it in 2-3 days, but if its a regular habit I have the feeling you'll be in for 7-8 days of withdrawal. Get some fresh ginger, or ginger in the tube and make it into tea - it will help with the nausea, and it offers a minor bit of pain relief. Eat now, and rest now as much as you can.

Good luck getting off.

Since trying to stop multiple times, with each successive attempt at sobriety, I've generally had the worst time days 2 and 3 and then it subsides quite a bit.
It used to be terrible for days on end though. But the last time I quit, it was over in 3 days, but then PAWS kicked in. No bueno.

Large doses of loparamide elimate nearly all WD symptoms, some people even use it to get high (although that's really stupid, isn't like a true opiate and you have to take LOADS), 40-60mg kill my WD completely, but since it's basically just another opiate, you're only prolonging the inevitable. Smaller doses like 20mg (for us with a tolerance, mind) are a boon though, great WD relief and small chance of making it last longer than normal.

I'd have to disagree about lopermide delaying the inevitable. Given that it doesn't pass the BBB, I've used it a few times to get past the physical withdrawals, never to have them to return (at least until I start using again!). As far as PAWS, though, it never made a dent for me.

Gonna shoot this over to OD for ya, where it may garner more appropriate feedback.

Take care of yourself <3

Yeah we need to onow exactly which opiate you were taking to fully beable to help you and let you know how long and how bad the withdrawal will be. But usually, shorter acting opies(oxy, heroin, hydromorph etc) will usually last about 7 days with peak withdrawal in the 2-4 day range. Longer lasting opies such as Bupe and methadone, the withdrawals could last for weeks depending on your dose and how long you were using for. The one time i managed to kick bupe( had to do it at basic training for the army which was fucking aweful) it took about two weeks for acute withdrawal to end and then about a good month of PAWS. But now im back on bupe and really dont ever wanna withdraw from that shit again...worse withdrawal then my 2 bundle a day heroin habbit for 3 years..id much rather have more intense withdrawal for a week then to have a long drawn out withdrawal like with subs.

But stay strong OP! You can do it. Many of us have before, and if you've made it this long then hang in there! The worst is almost over bud. Good luck to you!
