Former Taxi star Tony Danza has spoken out about shocking new photos of his daughter puffing cannabis from a pipe, insisting the teenager's mistakes are being made too public - because of him.

The actor-turned-US chat show host was horrified when he learned of US tabloid plans to print pictures of his daughter KATIE looking high in the back of a car and puffing away poolside.

And, in a bid to face the scandal head on, Danza approached the Globe to try and explain his daughter's actions.

He says, "Make no mistake, understand, I am not happy about this. "But my Katie is a good kid, who like other kids her age, has made mistakes.
The only difference is that because I am on TV, she ends up being in the public eye."

The pot-smoking scandal could not come at a worse time for wholesome Danza, who stands to lose his daytime TV show after just two seasons, due to falling ratings.

Because when ignorant people hear the word "drugs" or god forbid "pot!", they are SHOCKED and APPALLED! and "shocking" and "appaling" news apparently makes its way into every paper!

OH NO!

People are dying because of hunger, lets bust the potheads!
 
^Yeah, I clicked on the link to the article and it's got a picture of the advertisement to the movie "Taxi", the one with Queen Latifah and those hot chicks.
Maybe a stuffup on their behalf?

The pictures look like they were taken close up by a friend which would imply she knew they were being taken. She's smoking out of a nice glass piece in a limo, making out with a chick in a limo, and smoking the same glass piece by a pool.

On the other hand, the pictures could have been sold to the tabloids by a friend or stolen. Or maybe it was just a really powerful camera lens.

Because she is NOT a celebrity and any rational person who is not in the public eye has an expectation of privacy. If she wasn't aware that the pictures were being taken or the pictures were personal and not intended to be out in the public, then she has been violated. Maybe it's easier to shrug off if you're rich, but I'm sure you don't want people unwittingly taking pictures of and/or publishing them, particularly ones depicting you in embarassing or illegal acts.

I'm from DC and in 98 or 99 the local Fox network did a story on Buzz and the DC rave scene. They caught a lot of people on camera using drugs. So not only were they unwittingly exposed while they thought they had some sense of privacy, but it caused a lot of issues related to family and work. Not to mention it devastated our scene.
 
Wow, you guys must be young..

They are talking about the classic TV show "Taxi." Not that stupid movie with Queen Latifah and Jimmy Kimmel. I was never a fan of the show but it broke a lot of people's careers. And no, I don't think Danza ever drove a taxi...
