Tonight the Wind

Tonight the wind brings me stories
Of wailing loss; rattling the windows
In anxious frustration.

Tonight the wind speaks
Of tumultuous changes,
Inevitability laced with regret.

Tonight the winds' rustle-hiss
Cries that winter is coming
And summer dreams must scatter away

Tonight the wind blows
And tussles the treetops,
Billows the curtains into my room

Where a candle stand burning
Bright by my window:
Tonight the wind calls to my soul.

*cheers*

Tidy work, very tidy, the feeling of restlessness is certainly not one to be underestimated, I love the overall feeling of this poem, and the way it is written, the repetition kind of hammers the feeling home.

Cheers!

i really like the way you built the mood up through the stanzas - it heightened the impact of the final verse....
