did anyone else see this shit on the today show? he acts like hes the shit and knows everything about prescription drugs. he called ritalin a street drug.

I'm assuming his information (of which he has more than anyone on the planet) is based on the fact the adderall and ritalin are both for add - which he obviously has. furthermore, amphetamine-sulphate - the "street drug" is one of 4 components of adderall. however ritalin doesn't, and people dont buy that shit on the street - they buy it in college dorms when no one has adderall

if he thinks ritalin is bad because it has the same mechanism of action as cocaine, well guess what so do laughing and sex

fuck him for being so high and mighty. scientology has made him insane, especially after his "promotion" to a higher level. you gotta pay for it though

OVTIII's like Tom, are regarded as the most intelligent and wise members among sceintologists. Clearly anyone that can pay the $400K to take the course required for such a level MUST be pretty smart. It is no surprise that his delusions of grandure have been bleeding into the public eye. Especially considering he fired his PR team and hired his sis on. Very wise indeed.

I can't believe Beck has fallen for this shit. Tom and John Travolta are one thing, but when they start brainwashing serious talent... damn...

Yeah yeah yeah, anyone who beleives something other then what you do MUST be a quack, right ? Obvoiusly these are smart men, and they must find something of value in the program if they are willing to drop that kind of moolah on it. I personally don't know a whole lot about the scientologists, and until I do I will reserve my *PERSONAL* judgement. People beleive all sorts of things, it's not your job, or mine, to tell them what to beleive.

For a bunch of persecuted drug users, it sure does twang of irony. We are trying to convince the public of a more educated and accepting stance on drug use, but we can't even accept other peoples religious beleifs ? Give me a break...

I mean, my dads nurse didn't even fucking know the difference between oxycontin, vicodin and percocett and when I talked to her about it she looked at me like I was some sick druggy. The fact is, I don't even use that crap (not because it's not good, just can't find any hehe) but I definitly wanted to know what kind of medications my father would be taking and how they would effect him. For my KNOWLEDGE about pharmespudical drugs I got persecuted, just like you are persecuting old Tom here...

Beck's dad was a Scientologist, so it's more family brainwashing than anything. I agree with you, it is very sad. Although some would say Beck's Scientology role opened a lot of showbiz doors for him. I like his music but I'll never buy his albums or attend a show of his (I'm skipping Fuji Rock this year because of it). Scientology is really the worst thing ever.
 
ok, i respect his right to say what he wants (ala voltaire), but im positive i know more about the effects of ritalin than tom cruise - not to mention the fact that his info comes from an obvious scientology bias. AND only one of us has taken hundreds of pills of ritalin (and plenty of other drugs) to know from a personal standpoint

you should really look into scientology, but don't go to their websites. its all seriously rubbish. you pay more and more to be told "secrets to life". you get higher ranks that way. it was created by star trek creator L. Ron Hubbard. It basically has a similar philosophy of all religions. be nice, be healthy, but everything else is totally insane. but the glossy eyed celebs seem happy - so at least its got something

tom has a differing opinion on the subject than me (and prolly 99% of bluelighters), but he acted like the fucking god of the universe when he was talking. did you actually watch the video psychetool?

I bashed tom because this is probably one of the open forums where someone can call him out without fear of libel/slander.
I might add he hasn't backed up what he supposedly knows on the subject, he simply stated, "Matt, you don't know, you just don't know, quit being so glib" in a whiney voice and just put his hands on his face. it was completely unconvincing. This is a lot how my roommate last year acted, he was a cultist and conspiracy nut and had a easily shaped mind. but once his opinions had been formed, there was absolutely no way to convince him otherwise

and finally I am jealous of Tom cruise, damn he's stolen katie holmes away from me until the end of the summer blockbuster season

Anybody who thinks psychiatry and psychiatric medications haven't been tested and proven effective is simply ignorant. Scientologists sound like freshly minted DARE graduates that come home to tell their parents that pot causes insanity and death.


PS. Beck? He's done some good work, but for the most part his reputation is built on people who can't tell the difference between novelty and quality. In his way, Beck is every bit as much of a cynical commercial property as N'SYNC; just targeted at an older and more pretentious consumer.
 
WTF is scientology? I have been to there website but it seemed like a bunch of half baked ideas and jibberish. I remember fallout 2 made fun of them, they would take your money, talk about how they could fry masquitos with their brains and shit.

I keep hearing you all say 'oh their such wackos, their so crazy' then how come so many rich people get into it ? Lets hear WHY they are such wackos.. I was never one to support baseless claims. I think there must really be something attractive about it, and I certainly don't think it's crazier then any of the other religions out there.. They *all* ask for donations, have spokespeople, ect.. Religion is religion, often times it's corrupt and lame, and thats why it should be a PERSONAL thing. I'm just as sick of people trying to push religion as I am with people trying to push anti-religion. Give it up, let people believe what they want.. Who made you the allmighty rules who decide what is right and wrong ?

I'm gonna have them send me a brochure, just to see what it's about. It might be cool.

IMO Scientologists are crazy people indeed, crazy but harmless, so it's all fun and games. And Beck's grandfather was a Danish modern artist, who had nothing to do with scientology, I guess his dad wasn't much that way if he became a scientologist, but back in high school my best friend was a huge Beck fan, we saw him live, and listened to lots of rare stuff and well lots of his stuff and personal life and such, IIRC my friend told me beck used to live in a sort of ghetto and did drugs from a very early age, that and his father being a scientologist don't go together, unless he was a ranaway or his father abandonded'e or something, reminds me of his song "He's a Mighty Good Leader"
And to the guy who made the n'syncy statement If you listen to the old-school beck stuff, from one harvest under the moonlight to one foot in the grave you'd change your mind, and I haven't listened to beck in a good awhile, I don't ca for his new records, but I remember having good times with those records, my frien's stepfather even joined us for tokes and listen to beck vynils, said it reminded him of his days toking listening to Capt. Beefheart..../ends rant.
 
xenu.net (XENU, i'LL GET PNEUMONIA FOR SAYING HIS NAME, OR I'LL DIE, FUCKING WHACKOS), after reading thouroghly that page and checking links out and other pages and google searches and speaking with my mom on the phione for a lot today (I had bootybumped alost half a gram of opium with 2 xanax bars and smoked a J, so i was very talkative) who's a doctor who practices psychoanalisis, anyway I remember about 5 years ago she had a patient who had megalomaniac delusions and other problems and giving all his money taking the courses, and his wife drive our family nuts calling my mom all the time telling her all the stuff he was doing after he joined the Church of Scientology, also by the end all the money he had lost is unbelieavble, my mother derived him to a psychiatrist and told me the psychiatrist told her he quit treatment 2 years ago cause he couldnt afford it anymore cause ha was living in a very cheap neighbourhood in a samll house with nothing left on his bank account after all the money he spent on Scientology, the story sounded like something straight outta The Dark Side but worse, he was heavily prescribed especially with antypsychotics and numbed with benzos and his wife had quit her job to babysit him, and after he was expelled from the CoS and lost it all and was so drugged he didnt talk or do anything, very sad and pathtic considering he was a graduated Architecht who once had succeful economical life.
So Scientology takes its toll for those feeble-minded ones, I totally retreat my fun and games comment, after reading and listening to Hubbrd's own word they are whackos, evil and worship the almighty dollar and indeed are dangerous for a very wide-target of the population who's becoming bigger by the day, p;eople who can't think for themselves or fall for fads/publicity/all that shit, with so many celebs being Scientologists (all a plan to make $ and use it as advertising with stars, hey not even some of the biggest corporations can get Tom Cruise to do a commercial for them), oh to add to the list my mo told me Nancy Cartwright (shemakes the voice of Bart Simpson) is a fervient Scientologist too, kind of Ionic too considering a few of the episodes of the simpson leading with Cults.
