Tolerance to DXM/opiates

Okay, here's the story:

-I one day took 15mg hydrocodone. I weighed around 130-140lb. at the time. I hardly had any effects.
-I have taken opiates several times now, and had minimal results.
-I have taken dextromethorphan in first- and second-plateau doses and had no effects except blurred vision and trouble walking at times.

I seem to have a tolerance to both opiates and DXM. I have heard that DXM affects the mu-opiod receptor. My question is: do you think this is just a coincidence, or do I have an "unresponsive" receptor? I know it probably sounds dumb, but seeing as both drugs affect the same receptor (I think) I don't see how a single "bug" in my system couldn't cause both problems.

Anyone?

I don't know exactly how/why it works; but yes, I did develop a tolerance to DXM through my opiate usage.

When before I'd use a second/third plateau dosage of pure DXM and I wasn't using opiates, that's exactly what I'd experience.
However once I became an opiate addict, massive doses of DXM rarely phased me when I should've been acting like a drunken Jackie Chan. But that's just me.
