Benzos Tolerance to Benzodiazepines

It will only continue to work if you let your tolerance reset. Imo try to use alprazolam at most 3 times out of 7 days, when you most need it, and pop it off by the box (the way bars break into quarters), take whatever the smallest interval is that you can break your pill into. Start at 0.25mg of alprazolam (aka 250 micrograms, often written as ug), wait 45-60 minutes, and reflect if you need more. Exceeding 1-1.25mg without tolerance is unwise in my opinion, and preferably you keep your tolerance next-to-nothing by not overusing alprazolam.

Benzos are very deceptive and they give no warning when approaching "too much" enters the chat. Benzos could be one of the worst drugs to mix with other drugs. Benzos can also be one of the worst drugs to take if you are not "regularly" seeing a doctor and you are very sure there are not underlying existing health conditions.
THIS! Especially when mixing benzos with alcohol. You will go from sober one moment to waking up out of a black out the following day. There's no real fun in between.

True. Very bad idea mixing benzos and other downers.
Benzo also have that "sobriety delusion" effect where you may think that you are fine and ok, not high at all, but in reality you are totally out of it.
Also, if you are going to use alprazolam, ypu can take advantage of its relatively short life: use it only once a day, maybe at night, and let it wear off your system before taking the next dose.
It is somewhat similar to alcohol as in you can drink only at nights without problems, but if you drink the same amount around the clock, game gets darker.
Note that I am by not means saying that you will avoid addiction by abusing alprazolam at nights, not at all, but if you dose it three times a day, addiction will happen sooner and worse.

Tolerance develops pretty rapidly to the sedative (hypnotic) and motor effects. But tolerance to the anxiolytic effects develops quite slowly if at all.
From the study:

Don't get me wrong, long term benzo use has a bunch of side effects (I should know), but the idea that they are going to just quit working for anxiety one day isn't really that solid.
As long as you use them responsibly and keep to the lowest effective dose, you should be fine. Bartards give them a bad name.
They should still be a last resort though, in my opinion. Much like antipsychotics (but that's for another time...)
What about tolerance

Okay after a quick read and research posted I take it that's why my daily diazepam dose still even though I lowered it from 30-40mg a day to now 15mg a day.

5mg morning - prevention purposes
10mg nighttime - restless leg and overall body relaxation.

So with what posted does that mean I'm loosing my muscle relaxation properties of diazepam cause of continuous use. My anxiety is still good and as mentioned I used RSO to drop daily dose with no rebound anxiety.

But yeah. I'm also wondering I'm I still getting the muscle relaxation properties ( which would explain some restless nights ) or is just the anxiolytic properties at play now?

for me, both faded at the same rate, personally.

Benzodiazepines interesting become a death factor being onboard with all kinds of drugs. The fact they cause amnesia leaves me for a loss of words.

Yes benzos do that to me in doses upwards of 6mg, as well as antipsychotics they are worse than benzos.

How do I get my psychiatrist to lower my dose?
You could just ask, or maybe try to time the doses to be lower before use. I'm not sure which benzo you're using, but assuming it can be broken up into say, four pieces, taking them slowly throughout the day may be help full! Benzos are often best consumed in slow, progressive intervals in my personal opinion.

What about NOT using alprazolam for five days out of seven? That would pretty much reset my tolerance yeah?
