tolerance to adderall already?

Well... I've been prescribed adderall 10 mg twice daily, instant release. Well, I think I sort of screwed myself in chasing that "euphoric" high, cause friday I took about 30mg total throughout the day, yesterday I took 50mg, and today I took 60mg. I wasn't intending on 60, but my first 20 felt half of what it used to, so I kept upping.... but 60 was a lil too much. I'm very jittery and I can feel my heart race (which didn't happen on the other doses today, but happened on less doses before).

I was just prescribed the adderall last Thursday. I took them everyday except Sunday.

So my question is, did my tolerance go up that fast, in less than a week?? If that's the case, I'm taking a 5 day break after today, and prolly just re-start taking as prescribed, because chasing that euphoria will just keep getting harder and harder.

Yes, your tolerance will get higher if you continue to take higher doses so quickly.

sigh... well, I guess it's time to take a break. What goes up must eventually come down I guess.

I'll soon pop some Xanax to that.

The weird thing for me, in regards to adderall comedown, when I feel it start to wear off, I feel in a calmer state of mind *knock on wood*... which is weird after hearing all about how bad a comedown is. The next day though can kind of feel like a hangover (after sleeping the night), with a slight headache a a lot of tiredness.

Tonight during my adderall comedown I popped 1mg Xanax and am in a quite peaceful state of mind at the moment. Relaxed, and will probably stay awake for a little to enjoy this moment of serenity then go to sleep.

Why are all drugs that make you feel so good, so addicting?? Damn if they weren't I would take them all the time. Life is short, I'd rather live in a happy state of mind than in the miserable mental state that consumes me on a daily basis.

p.s.- Xanax needs to last a little longer effects wise. grr. I would have loved a script for a longer acting benzo but all I got was a script for 20 .5 Xanax with no refills.
