Toking too often?

^ Allow me to reply to your experiences in all due respect.

i smoked only on weekends for the longest time and that was probably the best solution. although i did waste a lot of weekends that i could have spent partying and getting layed.
This was exactly how I got hooked on pot; partying and getting laid on the weekends in my late teen years/early 20's. Keeping it as a 'weekend addiction' is probably fine for most people, but it's still an addiction at that point. For anyone who actually calls this a "weekend addiction", it's kind of like being a "little bit pregnant" don't you think?

my advice is this: dont buy weed for yourself. you can buy some for a party or a session, but never buy it for yourself.
This probably works for a lot of people, but it sure as hell pisses me off. I don't mind smoking my friends up, but when I am actually supporting their habit, that's when I cut em off.

OP I dont' think you have much to worry about at this point in your usage.

i DIDNT party and i DIDNT get layed because i spent my time in some dudes room smoking pot with a bunch of other stoners. fun times for the moment but barely any lasting memories from that time. nothing compared to wild parties and sex with chicks.

and about mooching weed from other people because you dont buy any yourself: bring a case of beer with you every once in a while. buy a gram or two for the group and leave the rest when you leave. of course you cant make it right for everyone but it shows good will.

I'm sure it works fine for you and your friends, but mooching weed to help your addiction isn't generally going to be a way to win friends and influence people...

Smoking weed every day kept me sane in those years. I think it's not ideal to smoke pot when your brain's still developing, but I don't think you have to worry about it. I don't think it did me much harm, and I got stoned a few times per week from 7th grade till 9th grade, then 3-10 times daily from 10th grade on.

I know the feeling. When I first started smoking, I thought to myself, "I do NOT want to get addicted to this shit." Toward the end of March, into April, and at the very beginning of May, I became a daily smoker. I had a drug test in the second week of May and I was still toking at the beginning of that month, even though I knew I shouldn't be doing that. Something that I think was the hardest thing for me to do was to get rid of my cut of the finest weed I ever had. Well, for one, it made me too paranoid, and two, I knew the temptation to smoke it would make me fail that test. I later discovered there was still some bud in the bowl from a while back, and it took every bit of my willpower to not just take that all down in one hit. In those weeks leading up to the drug test, I had trouble eating, constant minor nausea, just all around feeling like I'm going to puke my guts out if I eat too much. I think part of that was just anxiety, though.

Now, I'm feeling fine, but I still have that need for weed. I smoked the absolute last of my resin from my bowl, so I don't even have that any more, and with no contacts in town, I'm not going to be getting any more bud until I go back to school. Although I really do think a break is in order for me, I'll just have to make sure not to get into the habit of wake-and bakes. Really, it was the discovery that I could smoke in my room somewhat safely that led to that.

I smoke weed every day and have for the past few years. I don't think it has negatively affected me too badly. Obviously there are things like habit/short term memory loss/loss of appetite when not high, etc. But I find those all to be pretty livable. I'd rather smoke pot and deal with those things than not smoke pot at all.

I have a vaporizer and take aspirin before toking (to possibly prevent the possible neurotoxicity of THC), so I think that my physical health isn't greatly impacted by using cannabis, but do you guys think that I should stop myself from vaporizing on a daily basis at night (just after 10-11pm)?

Wow, never heart that?
Were did you hear/read about neurotoxicity of THC and taking aspirin to prevent it?

I think/thought there were no neurotoxicity(?). People say Aspirin would be good/healthy when you get older coz of thinning your blood - but i doubt it is healthier to smoke weed in combo with it.

Correct me if i am wrong.

Bud isn't nuerotoxic. I've heard of aspirin being used to help with a drug test, but not in preventing the non-existent neurotoxicity.

Dude its just pot. Be glad the habit your not even forming yet in my opinion isn't shooting up heroin or something...

I've been smoking/vaping weed everyday for aproxx 3 years .

have not noticed any negative physical effects from it whatsoever .

However , I have noticed alot of mental effects developing slowly such as anxiety, irritability, nurotic behaviour , lack of motivation, etc.

But ^ that doesn't mean you will get these effects .
Each individual is different . I know people who have smoked everyday for longer than me and they are still the same mentally if not better !!

At the end of the day it really does depend on the individual .

Some can handle it and some just can't .

Simple

Some years ago, I also smoked only occasionally and thought that if I ever smoked every day, that would be way too "fucked up". For the past 3 or 4 years now I've been smoking up at about 2 hour intervals in all my free time (I'll smoke before work, but not at work :D ) whenever cannabis is available.

It's generally available in some way, shape or form, and when it isn't it's not awful, but I do find that the "addiction" is kinda annoying in that non-stoned life gets boring and I have slightly more trouble eating and sleeping without it. On the whole I feel it improves my quality of life and I like it a hell of a lot so I choose to smoke it all the god damn time, and really, the negative effects aren't all that bad. But I know some people who would be (and some who already are) WAY fucked in the head, partially due to everyday toking.

It's not that bad at all really, except when you run out of weed and spend 2 nights climbing the fucking walls. Obcviously it's no heroin withdrawal, (shit it's not even a speed comedown) but it still kinda sucks.

for most people you cant get physically dependant on it, be addicted to green in MOST cases is a psychological thing that happens to a very small percentage of users. If your generally an upbeat person, who just tokes for a bit of fun or for positive reasons such as to expand your imagination, enjoy things a lil more, then youll be fine. If your genuinely smoking all the time to attempt to block something out, or because your depressed, thats really the only cases in which psychological adicction can take place, but its a long process

Then .. Don't smoke it? Lol, don't really get the dilemma. And what's so bad about a habit?

this is ridiculous, i used to smoke every day, all night long. and i quit for my job no problem. no side effects. even while i smoked i got straight A's and kept a non smoking social life. weeds gods gift to us. enjoy it as much as possible.

rock n roll

At least according to one study, it is neurotoxic to the hippocampal cells in vitro.

http://www.jneurosci.org/cgi/content/short/18/14/5322

It can't hurt to be safe and take a couple aspirin, eh??

This study was done with the intent of harming brain cells. The abstract conclusion neglects to state an obscene amount of thc was used. An amount that would take a human twenty pounds of raw cannabis to procure.

A potent thc analogue was actually found to promote neurogenesis in the hippocampus

http://www.jci.org/articles/view/25509

There is also a study proving that thc is a powerful antioxidant.

this is dope because thc is so lipid soluble, helping where its most needed
