Thankful for getting something done that I kept putting off.
any plans for the break? is a ski trip off the table cuz of covid?I love winter.
I'm thankful that I get two weeks off work after Friday. This year has been fucked at work. Did my head in back in the summer. I almost quit. I'm burnt out.

No plans. I was thinking of going to Niagara Falls or Ottawa. Niagara Falls would be nice, but the casinos are closed ....which is not a massive deterrent, but I do love my gambling.
Ottawa might also be bunk because I'm pretty sure the Rideau Canal isn't open for skating yet as it hasn't been cold enough until this week. It's probably not even frozen over, never mind enough to open. I think the casino there is open though.....it's on the Quebec side...though, after Christmas they're closing all non-essential businesses so I'm not sure.
Might go up north to some cottage country resort or something for a few instead. Do some cross country skiing maybe.
Downhill is not an option this year because of the plague. Ontario skiing is not worth my time (not to sound like a dick, but after skiing Revelstoke, your standards change....it being the highest vert in North America, steepest average, most snow, etc) and Quebec resorts are rationing lift tickets and only announcing the day of how many will be sold aka they don't want anyone but locals coming there.
Fucking plague.
Other than that, I've taken a break off the booze for three weeks and have taken it easy with it since mid-October so I'm getting lit with some of my other lone wolf mates....and my parents on Christmas Eve.
Throw in some mushroom tea in there as well. A bestie is coming home from BC so that'll be cool as well.
Then there's Boxing Day brunch, pints and EPL....probably my fav Christmas tradition!
What are your plans? Is there any skiing in Ohio? Like in the south maybe? I know most of Ohio is flat from what I remember from my one trip to Columbus.
There is some (shitty) skiing in Ohio. I’d probably drive to New York or Pennsylvania though for something that’s closer to a mountain rather than a glorified hill. Ohio is really flat, especially near Columbus where I’m at. Southern Ohio is Appalachian foothills though which are really cool. See my most recent post in my SIED training log for some picsNo plans. I wanna snowboard out west so bad lol. Everything in the east just simply doesn’t have much verticalSkier myself, not in recent years, Bunch of years in the hills. I like the steep shit too.. spent a couple of my years in Crested Butte. Even dropped a 45 footer on rabbit ears pass, backcountry near steamboat, one fine bluebird morning. I think I'm going to slip back on and lose my heals for good. If god she is willing.
Mt Tremblant in Quebec is decent. Iirc, it's the biggest vert in the East.I wanna snowboard out west so bad lol. Everything in the east just simply doesn’t have much vertical

but yeah I’m probably just gonna explore some new trails and do a lot of running on them![]()
