Today I Am Thankful For... Ver. 3: Earth, Wind and Fire!

Today just as every day I am thankful for having a truly great friend. I will be going to hospital this week on Wed,Thurs and Friday & my friend has booked the time off work so that he can go with me.
What a truly great friend he is.

That is awesome. Great friends are rare and it sucks to only find the mettle doesn't pass the test once you're in a position of need with nothing to offer in return.

Today I am grateful for another day sober. ...it seems the further away the really dark times become, the easier it is for that junky mind to get all crafty with pillfull desires.

Also got word I'm still on the short list for a great job I applied for back in February; selling expensive consumable products on commission means unlimited income potential! .....not that I'm all about the dollars....
 
Patience. This was a tough day today but I just told myself "tomorrow is another day"
 
Day five of being sober. The best day I've had in years. I am officially employed though I don't start training for almost three weeks. Luckily I have enough back pay from my previous job that this is no problem.

Anybody hear the word vacation as loudly as I do?!?
 
Having the opportunity to share my experiences on bluelight.

It helps me to get out of myself by sharing my experiences with people who might find them of use and helps me forget about what an utter waste of space I am.

Owen, you do so much good here. I'm glad you are around; you are definitely not a waste of space.
 
For the roughness of the fall because when I get up, I remember it and NEVER want to be back down there again!

Thankful for family--biological and chosen--who lift me up when I need it, and ground me when I need that too.

I'm covered in rain but the warmth and beauty of my sober dawn does not escape my attention.

God I want to go buy some xxxxxx or xxxxx, but I know what would happen if I did. I think its just a sign that I'm truly in recovery. ...once the craving passes, the natural high of accomplishment will out weigh any synthetic high I would obtain.
