Tobacco use to increase drug effectiveness.

Hey Bluelight. This is actually my first post as I just became a member today, though I've used bluelight for years to get the best information I can on harm-reduced drug use. But I have noticed that when I use tobacco, particularly smoking cigarettes, it amplifies my high, mostly with ADHD medications, cocaine, alcohol and cannabis. I've always thought that it's an action of the MAOIs in tobacco, and I've tried to research this without a clear answer, so I'm just asking you guys what you think. Also, feel free to tell any stories of SWIY feeling significantly amplified effects from smoking. Thank you.

It is likely reuptake suppression of dopamine due to the MAOI effect that increases the high (pleasure/reward feelings), but because you have ADHD there may be other factors involved as well. It could enhance your medications because it is increasing neurotransmitter levels and minorly increasing epinephrine in the brain, which in ADHD patients has the paradoxical effect of calming them down. (i.e. dexedrine)

The added affect I get from tobacco in regards to ADHD meds is for the recreational effects, when snorted

there's science in it somewhere, but basically. combining things is better. tobacco is a stimulant, and it could be that you're sensitive to stimulants, OP. and stories of smoking amplifying things? every time i boot on opes or booze rofl. it's from smoke 9/10 times.

When I was using opiates regularly, when I smoked I'd nod harder. Hence all the burn holes in my clothes.
