To a Friend:
You are a friend: no more, no less
(Or are you more?)
I say this to you, the one who has given me so much,
Yet, to whom I have returned so little since that autumn night
Then, it was fall, the same season as it is today.
(But, are we the same?)
Then, you helped me adjust and opened my eyes to a new world.
Then, I began to care for you, albeit only as a friend.
But that was then, and this is now...
Now, I sense things have changed, that more feelings have emerged.
(Do you believe the same?)
Now, I want to see where these feelings will take us.
Now, I am afraid...
Afraid, because the bond might never be the same after this.
(Can our friendship still exist?)
Because of others, we both know that staying friends is possible.
But can we accomplish it together...?
