Hello ya'll

This particular question regards the usage (proper usage) of benzos & TMJ - in laymen terms - grinding the fuck out of ones jaw.
I already have a mouth guard that the dentist made. I wear that sexy thing all the time.

What would be more effective.. diazepam or clonazepam? I used to take Klonopin for anxiety. Valium for the jaw. Recently a traumatic experience happened in my life (got drugged & raped, yeah, it sucked) so I got back on Klonopin (while also taking the valium)

My dr said I can't stay on both benzos and need to select one (I also take 30mg oxy a day) so its reasonable he doesn't want me on two benzos and oxycodone..

Which one should "in theory" help my jaw more? The current doses are 5mg valium & .5 clonz.
I know the clonz is "more potent" than 5mg valium, so if I picked valium would I ask for 10mg?
Asking about equivalency (which can be subjective..) but more so about which benzo will help my jaw more

Thanks.

Dude, TMJ sucks so bad. My mom's jaw gets locked up every couple of months and it's hell for her. Do you grind your teeth more during the day, or at night before bed? I've never heard of benzos being used to treat it, but it makes sense if you're grinding your teeth away, trying to sleep.

To answer your question (I'm not a doctor and this is more of an opinion) I'd go with the clonazepam as it's more hypnotic and helps with sleep.
Also if you're having stress/anxiety induced jaw-grinding throughout the day, my mom swears by a valerian root/melatonin combo to combat it. It's a subtle combo, so don't expect very much from it, but it helps. Good luck to you!
