Hi BL,
As per my thread about Starting Back on Amitriptyline for Pain Management I was wondering whether anyone knew of any tips & tricks that could help me tolerate the acclimatisation period? I've never tolerated Tricyclics very well but I'm desperate for something to ease the pain so I'm willing to give it a go. My plan is as follows:
Week 1: 25mg Amitriptyline
Week 2: 50mg Amitriptyline
Week 3: 50mg Amitriptyline
Week 4: Review Amitriptyline Dosage
Now I've read many threads on BL about withdrawing, but not any on acclimatising? I was prescribed a lot of Diazepam & Lorazepam to use when rapidly withdrawing from Venlafaxine last year, which really, really helped with some of the side effects. But I was wondering, is there anything I can do, or anything I can take which will help me take to Amitriptyline a little better?
It's only been 4 days so far but I really do feel like I've been KO'd by Floyd Mayweather every 60 minutes. Symptoms are akin to withdrawals, aches & pains, nausea, fatigue, inability to concentrate etc... even a little bit psychotic - just out of touch with reality at times. If there's anything I can do to help smooth out this period, I'd really appreciate it.
