I want to know what tricks you guys have in regards to intensifying your trips using your minds and bodys alone.

I find dancing intensifies my trip intensely. Turning out the lights and repeating the same movements as well as chantings a certain something which comes to mind in the moments sends me straight into a trance state which gives me incredible energy and visuals. Its like goings from a ++ to a ++++ in a few moments at will. If I'm lying down I'll try to let go of trying, allow the chaos to completely take over my sole being, my eyes roll into the back of my skull and I focus on letting go of focus untill I reach a higher level chaos untill another form of order is revealed. Its hard to explain but with this notion in mind I'm sure anyone can attain this state.

Another method is a power breathing technique I developed on my own. I inhale for about 7 seconds into my diaphram hold for 4 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds straight from my diaphram as relaxed as possible. On the 4th go I inhale for 7 seconds as usual but I force the breath down to my lower gut and up and hold it as still and relaxed as I can so that the breath is absorbed in the lower gut. I hold it for about 5-10 seconds and exhale real slow, this gives me a wicked wild rush of energy but if I over do it it just knocks me right out due to the excess of vibration. If i remain consciouse I can observe a rapid level of visual upgrade, if it knocks me out I come back with insane out of this world visuals that last for about 10-20 seconds and even longer if I incorporate my method of letting go.

So lets hear it, trancing techniques while tripping.

Tapping, of course!

I'm positive pencil tapping/finger tapping/drumming would send you into a godly trance for quite some time.

Rhythmic tapping, especially on a good drum

Controlled breathing

If I ever start to feel like the experience is just passing me by (as happens sometimes when you trip often), I will make myself write down everything I'm thinking, and pretty soon the trip becomes very focused.

Music! With or without closed eyes but preferrably with most of the time.

Staring at a single spot for as long as possible to increase patterning.

Listening to that person drumming their finger/pencil. ;)

Smoking a bowl also seems to do very well also.

Having good music on, lots of good company, and in an awesome place such as out in the mountains or when it's snowing.

I also find that having a focus point to fixate your eyes upon will increase patterns as said above.. and when you have less distractions in general in doing that your mind will wander further off as well.

Like the person above mentioned...

ALL you need is good music, good friends (4-5 people), and a comfortable setting!

BTW, It does help to have some KB thrown in tha mix!

To expand on the music factor, headphones put me in a trance every time. It's nice to be able to hear every single minute detail in the music, things that you normally don't hear due to volume or deconstructive interference.

personally Ive found mary jane to not help when I am tripping. Most of the time I barely notice any change at all. but i would have to say just the feel of the smoke is nice.

I usually just turn the lights off and make sure the room is totally black. Then I lay down in a waterbed I got in one of the rooms. That bed is just sick when it comes to psychedelics, it gives an incredible feeling! Anyone else tried it?

IME, MJ often manifests itself not as a sudden extra high when tripping, but as a gradual enhancement of the trip, particularly visually, as well as a way to relax and return my psyche to its comfortable MJ space.

Breathing exercises and meditation are great. My usual type of meditation, in which I focus on an object and imagine that object as various things (actual, physical objects, self, other, the Void, etc.) as a sort of ontological stretching. When tripping, I often try to relax my mind of focus while doing this, to become as much as possible a passive observer and to allow the object to morph on its own. This has put me face-to-face with the Void and/or my Self in a way I scarcely could have imagined sober; the best explanation I can offer is thus: While sober, meditation allows me to imagine/posit things such as self and void, to experience the act of making them the object of my subjectivity. While tripping, this becomes a conduit to directly experiencing the posited thing.

I'm a compulsive tapper. I'll have to try some rhythmic drumming next time I trip.

Music, either through headphones or loud enough to hear in detail, is also fantastic. Sometimes, I listen to "stereotypical" trip-music (Shpongle et al), but, contrary to what seems to be popular opinion, all types of music that are enjoyable to me sober seem enhanced while tripping. In fact, listening to some 'harder' music, like Tool, can sometimes make me more comfortable with "the dark side" of a given trip, removing the menace/fear it may otherwise have engendered.

i love the feeling of smoking, while in the middle of a trip whether its bud or cigarettes.

also like everyone else has said, good people, a nice environment, and def go outside and enjoy nature

Outdoors is usually the best. If its too cold for that then a good movie can do wonders. I watched both Pink Floyd live in Pompeii and Natural Born Killers during a recent LSD experience and it was pretty interesting. Something like NBK can get almost too crazy but if you can handle it, it can be fun too.

sort of like dancing. i like to lay in my bed and be in a constant state of movement. this gets the energy flowing and the cev's coming.

Ha, NBK is my favorite movie to watch on 4-ho-mipt!!
Talking to a sober person will almost always make the effects of the chemical far more appartent. Be very careful in going about it, though. Dont get yourself in over your head.

um, no, maybe i'm weird, but i never tried your fully sick bed.

a few other things that were found to really intensify the psychedelic experience:

paragliding magick valley winds
SCUBA in Rarotonga
surfing at sunset in Byron Bay
kiteboarding
mountainbiking Poison Spider trail
climbing a Colorado 14'
Angkor Wat

I liked to do this when I woke up from sleep to use the bathroom. As my eyes were adjusted to the dark, I'd go in the bathroom and only keep one eye open, the other closed if not covered. I'd let one eye adjust to the light then turn the lights off when I'm done and I have two images, one darker and blurrier, one brighter and crisper. The images would collide in my mind and begin playing tricks on the total image, morphing halos in particular.

So I remembered one time on LSD after sitting in the dark for sometime going to the bathroom with one eye under the light. I came back and stumbled for my bed unable to understand the visual noise in front of me. I became divided into two consciousnesses (if that's a word) and they began to interweave themselves into one entity as my vision returned. It was indescribable in words. But if you can remember to do something like it, do it!

Maybe this would be better in drug culture?

Holding a spider or letting it crawl on you.... dancing or stomping.....psytrance.....dustdirtearth......nitrous oxide....trees.....smelling flowers.....concentrated visualising.....storytelling.....hooting......spontaneous combustion.....incense smoke/ Nag champa.....pot.....animals.....fear....life....death....

-intensify the psychedelic experience. And such
