Tinea Versicolor linked with Opiates?

Has anyone ever made a connection between the two?
Tinea versicolor is a 'common' topical fungal infection that takes pigment from the skin allowing dark people to become much lighter. The word 'common' is debatable, in that while 1-2% of the population might have the infection most aren't aware of it.

My first outbreak started during a sepedball bender four years ago. Strangely, it spread to my friend - I didn't think it to be contagious. I got it treated and was prescriped an ointment, it went away and stayed away for a while until I got back on opiates. I got back into my usual winter cycle of opiate dependence, and when I quit the tinea sprang up as a result. I didn't treat it this time and it eventually ran its course and disappeared, but it's just recently returned again.... after stopping another cycle of opiates.

This time, having been much more aware, I've noticed that the white spots do not spread while i'm high, but if i sleep for more than 12 hours or can't dose for 12 hours, spots start appealing more seemingly directly proportionate to ow many opiates i'd done the week before.

Couldn't find any info on the connection...
