Stay away from doubt
and ill fight away the tears
reaching for something to grab onto
you point those eyes at me and its plain to see
the disgust written all over your face
as I try to hide the pen
shame on me
for all the things I’ve ever done
but mostly for the things I didn’t do
and no I didn’t ever not love you
I just could never close that door all the way
I learned all the lessons I needed
but I didn’t let go of what she wasn’t
the answer was always you
just so you know, you were right
if you can remember
how you always said I’d feel

The first and last line are a nice juxtaposition on one another . . .
I like the rhyming and the rhythm of the poem, it especially picks up around the middle.
A little more structure or development would strenghten it I think.
