i'm fairly sure mailing that dvd would constitute some form of terrorism. please destroy your copy and anyone else's that you come across for the safety of mankind.

auditory terrorism...the next global threat.

what on earth is all that supposed to mean? is it even english?

so this guy tiesto, is that his only name or is it mr. tiesto tiesto?

and what kind of music does he like ??

=D

i know its cruel but i'm having sooo much fun

He & especially people that worship him, make me vomit..
As a DJ :
DJ skills: Not impressive.
As A producer:
Productions: Most aren't his own.

Can we start bashing Oakenfold's new work now please? It could make an interesting change.

I respect Paul Oakenfold pretty much more.. He's not really my cup of it most of the times anyways...

Stop trying to be anti conformist bastards. I'm sure if DJ Tiesto was some underground unknown DJ you'd all love him

uhh no. i don't like djs who have no talent and act like morons behind the decks. you're a dj, not moses parting the red sea...

and no offense to anyone here who is complimenting the guy, but you're obviously either new to the music or completely oblivious to what makes a good dj. either way...time to educate yourselves a bit. find out just what is involved in mixing, track selection, and programming.

I dont even consider him trance.. he is just a pop dj. When i think of trance i think of Union Jack and Trilithon from the early 90's. How this new stuff got mislabeled as "trance" is beyond me.

tiesto isnt new. he been around since the early days. ('85 or '86)

his first rls was in 1994, and i have a copy. :D

If tiesto was some underground, unknown DJ he would probably actually do something while DJ'ing worth note. Better yet, he would stay unknown and some truly worthwhile DJ's would step up. I am a bit biased here because trance really is not all too pleasurable to me, but I will respect a DJ that can throw a good set. Tiesto's track selection is even pitiful now. I will say that while I was not overly impressed with Armin Van Buuren's skills, he knew what the hell he was doing with the music and his set put me in a warm place for a few hours.

It's not out of anti-conformism, it's out of .. mm maybe taste? :D

i think tiesto' best field is trance..he isnt so good @ tribal progressive songs...

The earliest release discogs has is 96. You should submit the release you have from 94, i am sure it would fetch a lot of $$

I haven't really listened to Tiesto much..I saw him at Ultra before I really got into electronic music. Even then, he couldn't keep my attention and I left his stage to go see MSTRKRFT.

Now that I know more about the music, I'm sure if I saw him and compared him to a lot of my friends that are local DJ's/producers, they would blow him away.

Ever listen to shapestatic? I know them, and I know they're a different type of edm, but I think they'd kick his ass anyway.

Why is this bumped? Lol.

Its kind of mindboggling how popular he is. I think that's the weirdest thing.

As far as getting someone else to produce for him. So? I don't really see the argument as how this is a bad thing. I'm sure he has some input, and what he knows to be a crowd pleaser probably has some value. Not everyone can produce.

As a DJ its true, I think he rode on the coattails of popularity, of trance being popular in post 2000 ish. Now Trance is pretty much dead. Its a dead horse in terms of production work. There's some interesting stuff still being made, but the high watermark is long past.

I don't think he's a terrible DJ, but not worth the $$$ that he makes. I think the transition from dirty basement raving to arena clubbing probably had something to do with it. The commercialization is just ridiculous. DJs are some sort of commodity/product to sell vs just some stupid tosser playing with records.

But genre hating? That's just dumb. That's like calling junglists just a bunch of stoned out hippies listening to crappy dub with beats. Gross generalizations will get you nowhere.

I saw Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk at Cream in Ibiza in 2003. The friggin club was absolutely jammed beyond belief. The Germans had their own freakshow corner (they are a bunch of strange birds) and just worship Tiesto. Van Dyk was a yawnfest.

I thought both of them were boring and uneventful.
