Tianeptine

Stay away from the "Za Za" since you have no idea what's in it. Don't some of their "formulations" have Phenibut as well?

I've had the pure Tianeptine. It was easy to do too much and get opiate sick, but the sick lasted forever and I felt horrible even the next day.
When I got the dosage right, with an accurate scale, it felt like a fairly strong dose of Hydrocodone but dirtier. Except that it began to go away immediately upon feeling it. It hit, then right away began to fade, even quicker than Hydrocodone (by far).
I could really see how redosing compulsively could be a thing. Add to that the fact that it's supposed to send your tolerance to Kratom through the roof with very little use and I ended up giving the rest of what I had away.

It wasn't so much misrepresented as it was misunderstood. Structurally relatives are serotonergic, though its close relative amineptine also behaves atypically for a drug in this class.

I don't think it's particularly habit forming at the standard 12.5mg tid regimen, barely tickles the opioid receptors. That said, opioid agonism is fundamental to its antidepressant effects. Perhaps even principally the mechanism behind these effects.
Noooo!!! I've been on 7-9 different antidepressant combos since Obama was in office and finally gave up, so - despite being a ex junkie - I've been ROOTING for tianeptine! I had hopes for this Euro smack for sad people!

20-some years ago, as a junkie I joked that D would be the bestever antidepressant - or it would if being a junkie wasn't so miserable a lifestyle. Methadone, tho, was awesome, and (one of) the dumbest moves I ever made was to detox. The depression popped up at once: "Hey! Thought I was gone? Moi?" On suboxone, even the suicidal ideation came back. But SSRIs/NI/MAO/whatevers don't work for more than a fraction of MDD people, so what do we do?

BUT: smack for sad euros might be worth a try. [In my case. And the SI means I'm less cautious than some ;)]
Not sure I can still feel euphoria anymore. Taking kratom and even 7OH without keeping track only gave me pruritis and nausea (not what I was missing from D). I quit subs easily, can go days without my adderall (stimulants aren't my cuppa), benzos underwhelmed me even in 6th grade, and I rarely drink even hard cider...
But hearing Bluelight folks dating to my hard core druggie eras warn about tianeptine gives one pause. If it's a mild euphoria that's short-acting, I can see a redosing hazard, but doubt I'd notice mild euphoria now. And if I do, it'd be an excuse to get back on methadone... tho probably only to learn that it no longer masks my depression, but bet you can still get hella looped on a double dose 😎.

Has anyone had the experience of it being prescribed as an antidepressants?
I know it's prescribed at much lower doses as an antidepressant in some countries. I'm curious what that is like. I guess just a faint tickling of the opiate receptors if you have no opiate tolerance, but I think that might be very helpful and good, as long as it didn't put you in a fast track to higher doses. I personally find that very low doses of opiates help me with my mood in a subtle but noticeable way, versus the negative mood swings of coming down from a higher dose ( granted higher doses equal a more euphoric feeling).

It feels really fucking good when u mix it with kratom, without kratom it never did much for me tho, they have a synergy that is really interesting, i bet there’s some interaction that gives it a stronger mu binding affinity or something.

But it’s dirty feeling. Nausea is pronounced. Shoots ur BP rlly high tho. It seemed a little unsafe to take recreationally so I stopped before I got too fond of it, but it’s a solid drug. Apparently there’s different salts that feel different and the one that is more euphoric is not available anymore, according to the r/tianeptine subReddit. Worth trying once, it got me high and I have a pretty high opioid tolerance.

I’ve heard that it’s use as a nootropic is where it really shines. I imagine it would be very useful for opioid recovery in the nootropic doses (much much smaller than recreational) as long as u could abstain from trying to take enough to get some mu opioid action.
