Tianeptine - Cross tolerance and contraindications

Firstly, I hope BDD is a good place for this. I considered ODD; if it should be moved, please feel free to put it wherever you guys see fit.

I am looking for experienced users of Tianeptine to answer a few questions that don't seem to have been covered anywhere else that I could find. I did a lot of searching so hopefully there is someone out there who might have been in a similar situation.

Recently, Tianeptine has been shown to not be an SSRE, as previously thought. From what I understand it exerts its effects mainly through AMPA and NMDA, and affects opiate receptors. This brings up some interesting questions about cross-tolerance. In my case, I'm a daily Kratom user, and have been for quite a long time. Kratom has been said to have some effects on Serotonin (although this may not be that important in regards to Tianeptine if it actually is *not* and SSRE), and we all know Kratom also effects opiate receptors.

What, if any, do you guys think the dangers might be of combining Tianeptine and Kratom? Does anyone have any experience combining Tianeptine with any other opiate agonists (hydrocodone, heroin, morphine, etc.)? If so, did you find signifcant cross-tolerance or any reduction in effects from the Tianeptine? I'm most interested in anyone who has any info on using it while also being dependant on Kratom.

Actually, to be more specific, I'm not really looking to *combine* Kratom and Tianeptine. I plan to take them at separate times, possibly using the Tianeptine to greatly reduce the frequency of my Kratom use. I'm just worried that having a base opiate tolerance is going to render Tianeptine pretty much useless.

Who here has used Tianeptine while dependent on Kratom or other opiates? Any information is greatly appreciated

I have used both for a while since back in March/April and I havent had any problems really with combining them or cross tolerance that I've noticed. Each of those seem to increase their tolerance fairly fast by them selves so that's the biggest issue that I have come accross. Some of the times while combining them I've gotten a little too edgy and anxious but I believe that was because of taking too much Kratom since I tested it out again that way and came across that same result. For combining the two 12.5 mg of Tianeptine seems to mellow out the Kratom effect for me and by it's self has pretty much the same effect while also being a little more focused and motivated. I find that more than that (12.5mg) ends up being more stimulating for me while on Kratom (and sometimes a little too stimulating) but that's just me. But I have never come accross any dangerous effects or have had any health problems from combining the two. But Tianeptine still works for me while having a 5-6 year on going opiate habit. Since Tianeptine also works in different ways than just on those receptors. I don't think Tianeptine by it's self will be enough to get off of Kratom, but I ended up using it along with Kratom during my tramadol withdrawals and it worked great with handling the antideppresant type withdrawal effects. You obviously need to adjust to your own tolerance but I hope this helps in one way or another.
