I am currently taking Stablon which seems like it is working, but way to early to tell yet as it has only been 8 days.
I am looking at other meds to take in combination with this in case it doesnt work that well with the exception of SSRIs and SNRIs.
This pretty much leaves Wellbutrin on the table, but I cant find anything at all anywhere that talks about this combination whether it be bad or good.
I guess I like the fact of not having my emotions completely blunted which I never even realized was happening to me before trying this med.

Maybe Wellbutrin doesnt blunt your emotions like other meds and if this doesnt work I can drop the Stablon completely and just try Wellbutrin by itself.

Anyone care to comment on any of this??

Thank you.

Hi,

I've been on Wellbutrin for more than two years now and the drug has been an incredible blessing. A couple of weeks ago I added tianeptine to the mix, somewhat reluctantly perhaps because there is very little data on its use in conjunction with other anti depressants. To answer your question on mood blunting I'll have to provide a bit of background.

I've struggled for a long time with negative thinking patterns, very low motivation and terrible concentration. A couple of years ago I had a major depressive episode and after trying an SSRI and (shudder) an SNRI with very little success, I gave Wellbutrin (ormaybe we should call it bupropion) a try.

The results were absolutely unbelievable. Within a couple of weeks the depression disappeared and for the first time maybe in my life I became clear headed. Within a couple of months I was incredibly functional and feeling somewhat bulletproof.

After several months I noticed that I had lost a lot of my emotional nuance. Although my state of mind was one of robust positivity - believe me, an incredible source of delight after an excruciating
depressive episode - there was without any doubt a spectrum of emotions I had lost out on. Life's magic was dulled a little and I felt very hard edged.

Thus after a lot of thinking and reading - and some experimentation with seligeline (which actually made me feel more hard edged) and modafinil (which made me feel flat and boring to be around) I tried tianeptine. After a couple of weeks I feel that there's a certain warmth to my perception which I'm enjoying.

On the downside I'm feeling constipated, I have a sore jaw that I can't quite seem to relax and I have a low grade headache. I trust that these side effects should disappear. My fear is that this new warm feeling might disappear as well.

Whatever happens I don't think I can get off the bupropion. I tried around four times and every single time I felt the old despair creeping back.

I have been reluctant to get back on wellbutrin because i am on benzos. However I have read some good things about tianeptine including possible antiseizure and antianxiety effects. Sounds like I really good drug. Had bad experiences with SSRIs: emotional blunting, modest if any anit anxiety effects, anorgasmia realy bad, hyperhydrosis. I would like to know if anyone has experience with this drug period. I would be reluctant to combine with wellbutrin due to possible seizure risk.
