So much glory
and so much awakening,
cement us in
the pool of a bird bath inside a
(walled) garden,
filled with all sorts of flowers,
like the magnolia I pulled form your ear, and
my dreams were distorted by the sun
which was hot this time of year,
(late July).
So there is no reason
to fear the cups of wine which I drank
earnestly,
despite it being considered
the blood of Christ.
So in keeping
with tradition, valium has become
our “new”
Eucharist,
blessing our
soul
with chemistry.

From
out the window, splintered
clocks, so red,
all broken
up and
jagged,
next to so many colorful pills,

like baby
turtles in a
pothole.

I saw my reflection in

The dirty waters of Venice, and

It was broken bay a passing gladiola

all alone in an Italian taxi

But the Roman walls are so much taller than myself.

And also,

Honermen said:

the blood of Christ.

I REALLY liked that part.

Three Poems

Moon Light

Slim shadows
tall and thin like moving grass

slide between my fingers into shards of moon light.

Ash

Dead trees layered with dust
rose form ash,

which was held in my palm.

The Dance

I imagined
faceless ballerinas,
dancing
white in unison

under my rubber umbrella.
