Hiya everyone

I have noticed quite a few people struggling to add images to their reports as the size of the image on Pill reports is fairly small (and must be jpg). What I thought I would do is create this thread so people can upload the picture for their thread here.

All you need to do is make the report as normal on Pillreports, copy the thread url and add your image to this thread. I will change it around for you and add to your report.
If you are using a third party photo handling software (tinypic-imageshack etc just leave the url here and Ill pic it up saves you trying to add the full image)

I will then remove your message from this thread (just to keep it tidy and not use up too much bandwith).

Im not sure how/if this will work but lets try it and see


Heres what I suggest to take a great clear photo

1. Always put the camera on "Macro" mode. It is usually in the shape of a flower/tulip.
2. Never use the flash. Put the pill under a bright light/lamp.
3. Take pictures. I usually take 3-4 to make sure I get a good shot.
4. Try and sit the pill on a dark surface

This is a good idea.

I think a lot of people don't have picture editing/resizing programs...I suggest Picasa by Google, it's free and it is pretty cool to use. It's available for both PC and Mac (Beta).

Thanks Ravenousblonde - I know that it can be frustrating when you can’t get the image to upload on PR so I thought this would make it easier for those who can’t resize etc. It only takes a few seconds to change the file and I really don’t mind doing it for anyone - I also think it makes the thread much better/informative with a photo of the pill (front, side and back).

if i were to add two pictures? one of the pill and one of the test results could you configure that as well?

^Yes, no problem at all, normally if I see a report that has one photo and a link to either the pill or test result I merge them anyway. These are a few of the ones Ive done the last couple of days -

Were lucky on this site as were not as restricted as PR for the image size or format so, for people that cant change them around they can simply upload the image the way they have saved it, Ill change the size and extension to fit the requirements or Pillreports.

but this wont be for another month or so cuz i wanna eat them first then post results along with test result and picture.

Windows paint is sufficient to resize an image... just load image, crop desired area, and save as jpeg. if it's too large, load again, and Image->Stretch/Skew... and give values of about 70 for both horizontal and vertical (to maintain aspect ratio). save, examine, and if still too large, repeat.

picasa and a whole range of free software is available to resize your images - thing is though some people still stuggle using them (why I started this thread).

Biggest problem I see isnt the size of the image but the format - It has to be .jpg to be uploaded on Pillreports.

imageshack.us gives you the option of resizing pictures to several different sizes when you upload them to there, but there's not an option for cropping

Some people make the reports from a mobile phone where its not that easy to mess around with images - this thread is basically for anyone who is having difficulty using one of the many picture editing softwares available. As you can see from the threads not many people actually need to use it as most just leave a .url to imageshack (or other sharing sites) if I see such a link in a thread I would normally just add to the report anyway

If anyone has trouble making the picture of the pill the right size, a nifty website I use quite a bit is resizeyourimage.com

It shows you the exact dimensions of the picture you are blowing up/cropping, so no more guessing and you don't have to register or any of that other bullshit.

Just thought I'd add that, I'm sure people will be able to put that to good use.

Please label this photo from left to right as indicated in my report on PR.....I am on a mac and can not figure out photoshop. Also can u drop the pills into the test result so I can post this on PR. Thank You.
