my thread was closed in north american drug discussion i was just wondering why? it was inquiring on wether clove cigs are still available in mexico or at duty free shops. while they are banned from being sold in the us they are still produced and sold in other countries

If you're unsure why your thread(s) have been closed PM the mod that closed your thread (or any of the mods of that forum) and ask politely for an explanation :)

Go to the thread in question and look near the upper left. You'll see this:

To add to the above reply.............you might also familiarise yourself with the forums rules as the answer is probably very obvious.

i read the rules but i still dont realy understand why my post isnt allowed unless you consider cigs drugs, thier not realy illegal either. their just not allwed to be sold in the us., but you can order them online or bring them into the country as long as their just for personal use

Just out of interest, there used to be a way of telling who closed the thread. But it seems to have disappeared. Is there anyway of knowing who did it now?

yeah, it doesnt say who closed the thread otherwise i would of msged them

Thanks Chris, Alasdair, Maz for going over out procedure on going about finding out why a thread has been closed. If you can not tell who closed the thread please PM any mod within the forum and they will get an explanation to you.

Please read BLUA. Specifically #1 in prohibited uses. There is a bolded part "or substances of a quasi-legal status" If something is possibly banned, heading towards being banned, it is definitely treated as the same as an illegal substance for sourcing purposes. In fact this might be a bit of over reach but I wouldn't post a link to an aspirin vendor on BL because we are so very keen on staying away from anything that even remotely relates to the sourcing of substances.

I mention this because it is going to be an issue in every BL forum not just North & South American Social & Drug Discussion .

Apologies for replying to a closed thread.

Chr1.5 probably knows this, but others do not - there is an add-on for the 'Closed Thread' stamp up there with a reason, and we had hacked it at one point to include the name of who closed it. That was lost at some point, and while we (I?) very much would like to get it back in place and make thread closings more transparent, it's not on the near (or mid-term) radar of things to do.

Alternatively, any mod of the forum, or sr. staff member, can "edit" the thread and see the history of deletions, unapproving of posts, and even the last item of thread closing. It just requires time and a few extra clicks, but it's there.
