Those Who Ran With Scissors

I exist, choking anonymously,
on my own vomit, my dreams
since faded, behind the tail
of a stale-mated comet, and
my heart is covered in
adhesive bandages, but
its all busted up like a
shredded chicken sandwich.

That new red dress that you
wear, it doesn't suit not
like the old! For months now,
there has been mold, growing
and growing, upon my empty soul.

Fate was not a fail-safe, and
I exist as living proof.

But, when I lie down upon
cotton, or even concrete sheets,
I stare up at the many stars,
I think of you,
and of all the things
that I should have done,
that I did not do.

Adam sleeps, without Eve, after
they together went running
with a razor sharp pair of
rusty scissors.

Just stale smoke in dirty mirrors.

I particularly like the imagery of a busted up heart resembling a chicken sandwich - it made me laugh. I really like the Adam and Eve paragraph as well, evokes powerful imagery/emotion (especially) leading from the paragraph before about looking at the stars and wondering what could have been. Nice

Love it, as always. I quoted those two parts just to say I really like the rhymes (old/mold, you/do) - since they're not too regular in the poem it makes them stand out beautifully. Same with the last two lines :)
