This is why I'm not a hydromorphone fan. Is it like this for others?

I can find hydromorph easiest and cheapest so basically I settle for it I guess you can say. But man I don't really like it. I insufflate it, not sure if that can make it a different effect from say IV. But I fear myself becoming comfortable with IVing haha.

shit i wrote a lot. tl;dr:
Hydromorph makes me sooo angry and impatient, often depressed, waaaay more histamine release than any other opiate, and keeps me up all night (literally didn't sleep til noon the other day when I snorted the last line around 2:30am). It doesn't have me nodding but I can't do anything but lay down because I'm just so nauseated.

The only time I've had a great time with it is when I did a ridiculous, unsafe amount. And then paid for it the following day puking til the evening.

I love morphine so much, though. I find morphine has me itching the least, not near as much nausea, it feels beautiful, I always love it, best nod. I also find oxycodone great, as most do. Both a great warm fuzzy happy feeling.

However, I like to keep morphine to a once in a while treat because it's pretty expensive and wasteful considering I don't IV (I'll be plugging next time around). So it's a shame I'm not loving hydromorphone so much. Damn.

So there's my hydromorphone review... Is this just me or can others relate? Doesn't mean I'll stop using hydromorph though...

Personally, I find hydrocodone the most euphoric (based on my recent encounter w/ it in pure form, not mixed w/ APAP / paracetamol), followed by oxycodone (much more available without APAP / paracetamol). Hydromorphone (dilaudid) never really did much for me, personally. Apparently the true beauty of it lies in IV'ing the drug, but that's something I'm not willing to do. For me Hydromorphone just makes me more numb than anything, which isn't the particular opiate high I've grown to love.

I've heard the same about IV. It isnt the opiate high I've grown to love either. Glad someone agrees lol.
 
I was honestly disappointed in hydromorphone IV'ed-in the amounts I've tried (started at 4mg for reasons of caution, then 6mg, 8mg, and that's where I left off). I never got a warm glowy rush. Only relief from w/d. The euphoria came only when I decided to add a bag of H to the mix. In my opinion hydromorphone was a disappointment IV'ed. No doubt I'll be trying higher doses to feel what is so highly spoken of. For now, I'll be working at lowering my tolerance to make it more effective in reasonable amounts. It's true that effects are different depending on ROA for sure. I insufflated ONLY for 5 years w/ good results -dillies, oxy, H, etc... and loved it. Tolerance is a bitch. And w/ds come quickly w/ dilaudid, making it less desirable in my opinion.
 
Does it keep anyone else awake all night like it does with me? Seriously two all nighters from it even though I stopped snorting at 2:30am and 4:00am. Fucks my sleep schedule up! I'm used to sleeping easy after opiates.
 
I have a terrible time sleeping after a recent opiate dose. I get quite a bit of energy from them.
 
Personally, I find Hydromorphone Intranasal use to be much stronger than Oxycodone. I find that there is not much histamine release with Hydromorphone as there is with Morphine, Morphine has the most histamine release out of any opiate I believe, or Codeine. Anyways 18mg of Hydromorphone snorted is much stronger than taking an Oxy 40.

Hm. I always go to sleep so easily with any other opiate but hydromorphone. Good to know it's normal though.

Oh ya that's for sure it is strong. Hydromorphone is very strong. Last time I got 24mg and used it over 4 nights just taking it easy. I've heard the same that there's less histamine release with hydromorphone and morphine has the most. It makes me find it extra weird why that's backwards for me. Hm.
 
It's funny how different everyone feels about it. I'm allergic to codeine products (hydrocodone, oxycodone, perks, etc.) so the only types of opiates I can tolerate are the morphine-based ones to begin with. I don't IV anything - just sniff- but in terms of the hydromorphones (dillys) the rush I get off sniffing even just one of the lower mg ones is wicked nice. I get more of a rush from hydromorphones (right when it's sniffed) than I do from oxymorphones (opanas). But in general the hydromorphones keep me where I want to be in terms of high - I'll generally end up getting sick one or two times depending on how much I take regardless... but overall I'd have to say that I personally like them alot. And the thing is.. they're really hard to find where I'm located. Out of all the available pills those are the toughest - seems the only people who have them around here are cancer patients and they are wicked expensive.
 
man I got a script of 25 2 mg dilaudids last year and I was so Excited... and then Later Dissapointed... I mean i can get Nice off of 30-40 mg oxycodone actually that's about my upper limit of it.. but I went through 15 mg of hydromorphone snorted trying to get high and all I did was pass out.. put me to sleep that's it.. well that and no withdrawal... I got absolutely NO desirable effects whatsoever from it.. they even injected 2 mg into me through IV when I was at the hospital and Nothing.. not a drop of euphoria just relief from my Abcess which at that point had swollen my whole face up
