I'm writing this again cause I can't find the thread I just posted.

Anyway I've been addicted to all kinds of opiates/opioids for 6 years now.
But this past year I've been on suboxone maintenance until my Achilles tendon got cut in half, so my doc switched me to 40mg of methadone.
well I've got a huge stash of suboxone and I hated the methadone so I got off the done' and switched to the subs. I stabilized on the subs for about 12 days then just quit cold turkey with absolutely NO withdrawal effects..

Now, I have been on subs for about 8 months and everytime I tried to quit (which was many) i would get to about 36+ hours and I'd be dyin cause the withdrawals. Anyway I was on subs 1-2 strips daily for 12 days.. Then this time I quit, cold turkey, I have absolutely NO withdrawal symptoms, it's day 3 now. and I have read all the horror stories about how people would quit subs and be all good for 3-4 days then on either the 5th-6th day the withdrawals were in full blast.

I'm just wondering that since I only took the subs for 12 days till I was stabilized then jumped off, could that be the reason for the lack of withdrawals? or am I just waitin for em to creep up on me and make my life a livin hell...

any suggestions/comments?

IDK, 1-2 strips a day is a pretty big dose. I would think you wouldn't start feeling withdrawal until day 3-5 depending on physical makeup/metabolism. But good luck, sometimes things seem to workout in weird ways like this for people with Suboxone, things that theoretically would not work end up happening.

If you jumped off of suboxone at 8-12mg's a day... you are going to be in for some serious hurting. At only 3 days, after taking that much sub, you still have a good amount of it in your system. The half life is 36 hours.. so give it another few days and you'll feel it.

Why would you try and come off at such an incredibly high dosage? Even at 2mg's the withdrawal is brutal.. you need to ween down to <1mg. Cold turkey from 8-12mg's is ridiculous.

well, I've jumped off at 16mg before and was in withdrawal within 36 hours, and it's the same EVERY time I do it.. but this time, nothing... so I'm hopin that someone up there is lookin out for me... and if not, I've got plenty of strips left.

If you got enough left do yourself the favour and taper down. Like Mr Scagnattie mentioned you still have enough Buprenorphine in your system, especially after taking such high daily doses. In my experience the longer you've been on it the longer it takes for the withdrawls to set in.

Good luck and smart move not to stay on the Methadone. That would have been worse...

^ Here's the question...

I'm just wondering that since I only took the subs for 12 days till I was stabilized then jumped off, could that be the reason for the lack of withdrawals? or am I just waitin for em to creep up on me and make my life a livin hell...

Taper down to a lower dosage because if you quit from such a high dose then you will feel full blown withdrawals. Bupe WD from high doses isn't pretty.
