Thirteen
Picture an innocent young blonde that was fond of her mom.
Because her dad went away, before they could really form a bond.
Her mom had been strugglin` before but now she's doing alright,
Somehow she manages a job, supper, and AA meeting everynight.
She remembers how she used to brush her daughter's hair with her fingers,
Now her daughter's so distant from her she regrets the thought even lingers.
If she tried to touch her at this point in time she'd end up with bloody fingers.
Because now her daughter's violent and is quick to point the finger.
At thirteen years old, a head full a drugs, riding with thugs, left in the past everything she used to love. All because she wanted everyone to think she was different, well now she is because she lost this quality that was once pure innocence. Too young to understand after high school it don't even make a difference. If your worried about people dissing your socks you won't even last 5 minutes. And this is, just for instance, something that could happen to any one of your kids.
