thinking of the psychedelic you're on...while you're on it?

so basically i was wondering if you guys ever think about the psychedelic drug you are on while you are on it? when i did mushrooms, i kept thinking of the word mushrooms in my head, and it was so weird. it brought up like these weird visions. on acid it was even stranger. like i thought of acid as something completely different than before, and when i would think of the word "acid" in my mind it was like somebody else was saying it. has anybody experienced this?
 
maybe along the lines "i know i'm on this"

only one that made me say the drugs name over and over mantra like even when not on it was ketamine
 
Only if i am anxious or something, i will remind myself "Don't worry, Its just acid/Mushrooms"

That's it though, i never really think about the drug i am on like you have described.
 
I get a really strange mental conception of the drug when I think about it sometimes, it takes on this very mysterious "persona" in a way. Like another powerful conscious entity that I must respect as another life form.
 
I'm not even sure how to not think about the drug I am on while I'm on it since I take notes nearly every time...I mean there's times when the experience has been totally engulfing and I temporarily have forgotten what I was on, but pretty much as soon as I come back from the void or whatever I am 110% thinking about the drug I am on and how the hell it just made me experience what I did.
 
One time I was putting some geltabs away in a drawer while I was tripping face on some of said geltabs and I looked down at them and felt really strange-- "all this just from that??" I thought. @_@

Its actually pretty preposterous that such profound experiences can be catalyzed by such miniscule amounts of matter, when you really think about it. :D
 
the first time i took acid i was blown away (in more ways than one ;) ), by what roger mentioned above. I even kept yelling "It was so small!" at my friends for a bit. Unfortunately no one was of sound enough mind to crack a "thats what she said" joke.
 
I used to do this when I first tried the 2c's. It was amazing to someone like me who thought that shrooms, LSD, and mescaline were the only psychedelic's a regular joe could get. I was blown away when 2c-e was kicking in and I just kept thinking about it and looking at the structure on erowid.

this happens to me every time im tripping hard enough to not make sense in the physical plane of reality / ego is disolved it sort of strange.

my first really intense mush exp. i was having visuals of the word 'mushrooms' in the erowid green font OVER AND OVER

so strange that there is a thread here on this =D

Yep I get this too when I'm really off my shit, during the most intense trip I've had I remember thinking about acid and mushrooms and was barely able to grasp the concept that they were drugs.

I definitely had a picture or vision associated with both of them(both very different). The mushroom one seemed very mysterious and consisted of lots of swirls of pinks and purples and blues, the acid one was more green and defined and consisted of lots of branches and fractals. I wish I was better at drawing so I could draw something similar haha

Oh this was while I was on acid by the way but I have experienced it to a lesser extent on other things...

Edit: Yeah thinking about it some more it is similar to what nearjat said, it's almost like each drug has a strange persona when you're tripping. I just asked my friend if he gets the same thing but he said he'd never experienced it....
