thanks guys i appreciate it but all these great places you guys are naming like in connecticut are kind f far from me (chicago) which i don't know of any detox/rehab facility around me here in chicago with a great rep
It's actually a good idea to get as far away from your home as possible when you go to rehab. One of the realities of rehab is that you will be surrounded by other people like you going through the same struggle, but not everyone will be there for the right reasons (people forced to go by parents, courts, etc). If everyone was from the same area, and the same area as the rehab at that, there would be a lot of temptation to swap phone numbers and trade "what I cannot get" for "the deal you can get" and similar counterproductive stuff. Don't get me wrong, you would probably meet some great people in rehab. But it's extremely dangerous even establishing support networks with people from treatment, because you're all fresh in recovery and can very easily trigger/enable each other. You're much better off getting as much as you can out of rehab, but then keeping your distance from that whole group afterward.
