Thinking About Trying Tar, Instead Of Pills

I had a smartass thing, then thought better of it and decided to do the empathy thing. Do you feel like you need the drugs to drive your creativity? This isn't a bullshit "convince you to quit" psychology thing, I'm curious because different drugs will affect that part of your brain differently. When I was on OC, my creativity (I'm not gonna give as much info on my line of work as you, but I'll say its in creative media) was insanely high. But when I take opiates/oids without the stimulant effect of the oxycodone, my brain shuts down with the rest of me and I'm just high and want to do high things, like zone out to tv or music.
This is probably shit you already know and I know working in the movie industry doesn't necessarily mean you have to be creative to do your job, but if you do, it might be something else to take into consideration alongside economics. I recognize you're an admitted junkie, but the "junk" that you "ie" can make a big difference, even if its in high doses.
Just shit to think about. Mull/ignore as you so choose and good luck!

I'm assuming you don't know anyone who's been to a methadone clinic? Or have you been in one?

I use buprenorphine, it is clearly superior in some ways to methadone. For one, methadone's therapeutic index is very low. Also, on methadone, you aren't getting off of mu-agonists (as a mu-agonist and NMDA-antagonist), and from the subjective experiences of people I've heard of, methadone is a lot harder to kick than heroin.

Suboxone > Methadone

I've only heard one person who is happy using methadone - it is for pain, not opiate dependence treatment. I've heard countless others that have something bad to say about it.

Heroin has potential to cause withdrawal after 3 days of consecutive use. Most opioids don't cause comparable withdrawal until 10+ days, some taking up until 20. That is the key that doesn't seem to be realized often enough. It's just that all of the 6-MAM causes such more intense dependence.

Can you back this statement up at all? Any WD is likely to be minimal, and 6-MAM isn't present in appreciable amounts in ALL heroin.

Id reccomend buying half of your normal oxy dose, and spend the other half on black tar. And just mix the 2 in a line. It would guarentee more highs!

I don't see what the difference would be either way since 6-MAM is still just the midpoint in going from: diacetylmorphine ---> 6-MAM ---> morphine.

So whether the heroin is mostly diacetylmorphine, or is like some of the tar seen in the DEA microgram that is something huge like 60% 6-MAM, its better way to get morphine to cross the BBB and it all becomes morphine within a few minutes.

For that reason it shouldn't be any different (in terms of WDs) than taking an equivalent of morphine, or any other opioid for that matter.

Not everyone can afford suboxone, though, it is quite expensive. Methadone is very cheap ($10 a dose from a clinic, the one my friends go to) and much safer than using heroin. The OP is concerned about money, and I was trying to give him an alternative to heroin. Suboxone/bupe are not meant to be taken for a long time, either, and the OP clearly stated he wants to keep doing opiates to get high.

Methadone is not "a lot safer than using heroin". $10/dose isn't a great price, either. $300-$310/month is a lot of money for something that's just as addictive as heroin is, for something with a longer half life, for something with a longer, worse withdrawal.

If you have insurance, suboxone is clearly the more viable option.

You can keep doing opiates to get high within a relative time of suboxone, just like methadone.

In the 16th century, Paracelsus stated, "All substances are poisons. The right dose differentiates a poison and a remedy." In methadone toxicity, doses that are too high for the individual cause respiratory depression, which can contribute to bronchopneumonia. Used in combination with alcohol or tranquilizers, methadone can also lead to hepatitis and kidney disease. Because of its long half-life, methadone may have a delayed onset of activity, causing patients to increase their dose with the innocent intention of relieving pain. Because methadone does not cause the euphoric "high" associated with opiates, patients may not realize the potential for drug toxicity.

Likewise, with suboxone, there's a ceiling effect.

There's a lot of reasons why methadone is not a "safe" alternative at all. JC could state some that I haven't.

I don't really care if methadone works for some people, it's a rather dangerous drug and there's better drugs out there.

Methadone from a clinic IS a lot safer than street heroin. End of that discussion. And the OP is trying to save money, that's why he's thinking about doing heroin instead of pills. I'm sure that his current pill habit is well above $10 a day. Suboxone is a much better treatment option, but who asked for a treatment option here?

You need to respect other people a little more.
Respect is earned.
And for future reference - I don't care if you respect me.

Infact I asked you guys specifically not to try to talk me out of it.
Which is why I said I WASN'T going to try to talk you out of it - you said you had already made up your mind, and I honored that. Why the fuck do you start threads or ask questions when you already made your mind up? You just like the attention?

So thanks for being such a nice guy, but being totally the opposite to some rookie kid in the same night that has no where near the problem and or tolerance that I have had or do have.
If you're calling that post you linked "the same night," why don't you look at the date. That was THREE years ago.
Whatever you're talking about isn't something I do on purpose, but it does seem right that I will offer more help to a "rookie kid" than to a helpless junkie like you who has already been to rehab 4 times and still hasn't changed. There's no hope for some people, so excuse me if I decide to focus on those who do have hope of a decent future. (And OMG I'm so jealous you got to meet the Celebrity Rehab counselors WOW thats so neat!)

Man i started messing with oxy over a year ago and then tried a bit of H and straight away i knew skag was far better. But they are very different, i use dto be a nursing student and could work away in the ward easy with oxy, butwhen istarted using H (sometimes during work) thatgoe sout the window, its very difficult to function on H compared to oxy. I never IV'd just smoke and snort smoking gives a good buzz but doesnt last as long as snorting.

But as someone said in an ace post, once you go to gear your cant go anywhere else

I think the OP is a little bitch. That is what I think. Who cares if you work in the movie industry? The industry is full of self important, vapid assholes such as yourself. Even your location is a joke "Valencia - 30 mins. from Hollywood"

why do we need to know that? why do we care?

these people offer you advice and you throw their despairs and fuck-ups (i.e. experience) right back in their face. stick with the OC's, a person like you could never handle dope. And I'll tell you this much, if a pretty boy hollywood type approached me or any of my friends looking for a fucking "bindle" we would not only think you are a cop, but probably jump you on the spot.

(PS - FUCK so cal. it's a bust)

"Dick sizing rehab stints"

Hahahaa, seriously. Dude, no one cares that you work in the 'movie industry' and go to celebrity rehab with Dr. Drew.

Swithcing to H works at first, but after a couple months u'll be killing a brick of d in a couple days and its no different than the amount of money ur spending on pharms.

Someday u'll be like all the other people in this forum trying to convince people not to go to H.

Dude, I do! I have a movie script about a pill-addicted film industry employee who wants to switch to heroin and all the wacky adventures that takes him on. I figure Ron Howard could direct and for the star, I'm thinking either Matt Damon or Drew Carry, depending on what direction Mr. Howard wants to take it. Let's make it happen!

I dont know what you are talking about most "hardcore" dope fiends wouldnt use 200mgs of oxy at once.....nigga please!!!! 200 is chump change. If you think that is alot then you are not at the stage that i am. 200 would give me a light buzz.

Yea after switching to dope for the past 4 months, I tried doing some oxy, and I ended up snorting well over 400mgs in under an hour. In reality I miss the old energetic and longer lasting buzz from oxys but they just don't work anymore. I'm back on subs now, maybe after tapering myself off of these for a month I'll go back to oxys and they will work hopefully.
