Thinking about a trip to amsterdam.

Mods, if this seems out of place feel free to move it.

Just asking because for cannabis users, Amsterdam is like a pilgrimage....

I would probably spend like a week there and was wondering how much cash should be saved before a trip like that.
 
as much as possible. i'd say at least $40 a day.... it depends are you planning on just smoking weed? or partaking in many of the other amazing mind-bending substances too?

oh definitely, im the type who if it weren't as illegal as it is, i would sneak something on the plane to be tripping by the time the flight lands in Amsterdam.... You step off a plane on an entirely different Continent tripping balls in a foreign culture... That would be a mindfuck.

If it were possible i would like to go for the first weekend in July for Sensation White.

Dance valley is the next weekend or two after.....

So i would have to pick one.

But yea, lots of weed would be smoked, if i can still find any smart shop shrooms i will definitely partake.... but those have pretty much been outlawed.....

And im chill with staying in a hostel. I plan to sleep really well or not sleep at all.....
 
shit well i would say as much cash as possible. its a vacation go all out.
 
I would take a much money as I could get my hands on!
I would buy all kinds of weed and get baked as fuck with new people!
 
but as far as an actual amount, i need a ballpark figure to accumulate....

hostel for the week 190 euros (could do cheaper but i care to avoid sketchy ones)
$100usd per day for food, pot, etc....
Air Fare Just going to assume like $1500 USD round trip.

$1,300 USD translates into necessary 890 Euros.

$2,800 is my ballpark figure i guess them...
 
Amsterdam is really overpriced, I spent a week there and found no hash better than the stuff I get back home for a comparable price. The dealers are generally rude and arrogant, and have an unshakeable belief that everyone outside the Netherlands is naive and ignorant and will be totally blown away by their stuff. You won't be.

was there last year, had a fucking blast.

First thing is if your planning on basically being baked every hour of every day your there you should buy a grinder and papers first thing. I had the terrible problem that i would sleep only as long as i was stoned so i would be waking up at 3 in morning and nothing would be open. Met a lot of fiends by getting them to roll for me outside my hostel.

I spent roughly 1500 euros in 8 days of messyness.

Oh just a thing go to the stones cafe for breakfast and joints. I think they open at 7.

Oh and dont be afraid to ask for mild strains i actually enjoyed smoking these alot more then the powerful ones. Mainly because 5 cones of blueberry would leave stupid and then i would feel lame standing there. While i found that the more mild strains would leave me social and allow me to keep on smoking.

Have fun and go to (sp) Rookeriq there are 5 or so of them and one has these slow moving fans which are amazingly entertaining.

To be honest the only time i have ever had hash offered to me was some rather giving hippies we came across setting up camp at a psytrance fest.

A really large bowl covered in hash made setting up the tent a little bit more difficult albeit a tad more interesting.

I loved it though, and really desire to find some more if i ever come across it.
 
Oh well if you've never really had hash before, you're definitely in for a treat. Some of the Dutch ice hash is both very powerful and wonderfully subtle, if you know what I mean-you can totally forget you're high, but if you give yourself a second to sink in to it you realise that you're stoned as fuck. Really clean highs to be had, very pure and uplifting. One thing I would advise you to look out for is that a lot of the imported black hash is quite heavily adulterated, and leaves hard cinders when you smoke it. The Moroccan is usually a better buy, both in terms of value and effect/flavour IMO.
 
a friend of mine went with his brother a few years ago. his brother came back swearing he'd never smoke pot again hahahaha. his reasoning was because he smoked too much good bud, but my friend told me it was because he geeked out on some really good stuff, lol.

go for it my friend. from what i hear, it's amazing. and the friend i'm talking about is actually going again sometime this year. i'll have to ask him how much it is. i'm curious now.. hmmm :P

i think! if i can remember rightly. haha and your task for the holiday is to get the dealer in the rusland to let you use amnesia haze in the vapouriser...

grasshopper is well expensive, but nice. best coffeeshop i found was either dolphins or the rusland. foods a bit expensive, but livable. i took £300 for 4 days...but i did have to buy presents etc, but i managed to get 5 g's of bud and 2 pre rolls, prettttyjoi :D

this isn't right. the best weed i've had was in a coffee shop in A'dam a few years ago, and i'm from California, so used to medical bud etc

prices between Cali and A'dam aren't much different, if at all --

most stuff comes as 1/8th oz, and i don't think the limit is much higher than that. i heard if you go to tourist traps you'll get ripped off so it's good to know someone from the area who can help you out and speaks the lingo

some of the stuff i saw was like high times material, ime (white THC crystals covering the entire bud etc). but a little steep for me at the time

i'd love to go again. i only spent 2 days in the area so i can't help you with hotel prices etc. i think A'dam prices are average for Europe and definitely lower than Skandinavia

Switzerland is also supposed to be bomb- they sell medical-grade bud for decorative purposes and from what i've heard it's also some of the best quality around

there's no way that's right, unless you get it off the street from some shady cat
i went at the end of 07' but i doubt it's changed that dramatically since. i laid down around (not listing actual price) 50€ for 3,5g

that's what i'd lay down for the same amount in California at the dispensary and it's top of the line (lots of kush and other indica-dominant breeds around this price while sativas and hybrids are cheaper)

in A'dam it was hindu kush and noticeably more potent than what i've gotten anywhere else. the smell was so strong i had to keep it in two glass vials (one inside the other) to help conceal the smell a bit
 
Id say if you go to amsterdam, just spend like half a day there, get some good weed, then go to rotterdam, so much nicer, both the town and the people

Hi,

I figure 100US a day... and the exchange rate isn't good right now so more.

you've got to figure Hotel, food (lots of good asian/chinese/indonesian places), tram-pass, etc.

and the cannabis isn't super cheap, it's just good and almost legal :)

(been visiting since 1991)
 
As a Dutchman who lives 15 minutes away from Amsterdam, bring all the money you're willing to spend. A cone will cost you €1.50 in a reasonable shop. However, you will run into all sorts of other drugs and paraphernalia that you'll probably want to buy.
