On another thread I was talking about how I get sleep paralysis every time I fall asleep on opioids and someone mentioned something about brain damaged caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. Since piracetam increases the availability of oxygen in the brain and protects the brain against hypoxia induced brain damage I decided to take some before going to bed on opioids. That was the first time I can remember falling asleep on opioids without going into sleep paralysis. I tried it the next night when I was pretty high and I didn't go into SP.
Can someone else test this out. If it turns out we've discovered a cure for sleep paralysis then we have made a pretty important discovery because the cause of sleep paralysis is still unknown. If piracetam prevents it then maybe the cause has something to do with a lack of oxygen to the brain. Opioids slow my breathing down a lot so its likely that I don't breath enough when I'm lying in bed on them. Enough speculation though, can someone else here who gets SP from opioids test this out. Take 1600mg of piracetam before going to bed and see if you still get sleep paralysis.
